 Re: The Top 5 Thread
I love Costner, one actor who really never got the respect he deserved. I think his biggest problem was he got way too famous too fast. He was on such a role for a while Untouchables, Bull Durham, Field of Dreams, JFK, Dances With Wolves, Robin Hood
Yoshue, I recommend Mr. Brooks, the movie itself is only ok, but Costner was fantastic in it and very different for him.

 Re: The Top 5 Thread
Gun, if you ever need ideas, feel free to pick over Filmspotting's Top 5 page. I almost made this exact thread like, two days ago only my thread would have followed along with their site, because their top fives are often really awesome ideas and I'd love to see what people here think are the top 5, say, Movies with a Child Protagonist. (For the unaware, filmspotting is a brilliant movie review podcast that has a different top five on each weeks show) Costner: 1. The Untouchables 2. Field of Dreams 3. The Upside of Ange That's all I've seen/liked enough to mention. Its amazing how many "big" movies he's been in that either I haven't seen or are terrible.

Thirteen Days is really underrated, by the way. For those who haven't seen it.

Oh fear not, I've done a lot of these before, usually there little better, like top 5 ambushes in film, sword fights. I just wanted a soft one to start off with.

Hmmm...
1. Dances With Wolves 2. The Upside of Anger 3. Open Range 4. Revenge 5. Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves
Still need to see both JFK and The Untouchables.
Didn't count Frances or The Big Chill since he had very little to do with it (one deleted part and a role so small that I hardly remember him in it).

 Re: The Top 5 Thread
This round officially lost its steam so here are the results:
The Top Five Kevin Costner films Parenthesis shows the number of votes
1. JFK(16) 2. The Untouchables (15) 3. Field of Dreams (10) 4. Open Range (9) 5. Dances With Wolves (9)
And the rest, pretty solid showings all around and kudos to noone putting The Bodygaurd in there. Pretty much a landslide in the way of Untouchables and JFK, but it really is not too surprising. Both are excellent films and Costner is backed up by steller directors and supporting players. Still need to see #4 and 5 though. Here are the other results
Thirteen Days (8) Upside of Anger (5) Tin Cup (4) Robin Hood (4) No Way out (4) Silverado (4) Bull Durham (4) A Perfect World (3) Revenge (2) The Guardian (1) Revenge (2) Waterworld (1) Mr. Brooks (1)

 Re: The Top 5 Thread
Hey, maybe you can put a note in the title about what the top 5 of the day/week/whatever is, so people like me, who haven't seen enough Kevin Costner that was actually even slightly enjoyable, know when it's time for the next round.
