I'm going to sweat makeshift/trixster here, and not use the conventional grading scale. It doesn't make sense - half the time I find myself evaluating a film emotionally, another half, I'm evaluating the movie technically. For example, there's nothing wrong with Citizen Kane. It is not a bad film - technically. Nonetheless, I - personally - do not resonate with the movie like I want to be able to.

Here, I've posted my own scale. I'm still quantifying things, but it makes a little more sense to me.

**** - Pitch perfect. Masterpieces.
***1/2 - Nearly impeccable. I will rewatch these and share them with others for years to come.
*** - Interesting, but they suffer from some filmmaking problems or genre barriers. Maybe they just don't intrigue me personally enough.
**1/2 - Solid enough to recommend. I guess.
** - I'd consider watching them again...if I have to (e.g. friends want to watch them), or I'm slightly tipsy.
*1/2 - Definitely going to need a little more alcohol to warrant a second viewing.
* - I'd rather spend two hours with ChipMunky.
