Re: The New Terminator Tv Show
Well... to be completely fair, the NFL Playoffs aired beforehand, with over 30 million viewers. Although I thought it might get some decent sampling, being a Terminator series.
The test will be tonight. I'm guessing it'll do well. Might survive the strike and get a 2nd season this fall. Don't know about after that, though.

Re: The New Terminator Tv Show
I liked most of tonight's episode, when it wasn't dealing with the utterly retarded detached Terminator head. And are they now trying to tie this into Terminator 3? Because if so, my head might explode.

Re: The New Terminator Tv Show
I'm guessing it was the fact that they revealed Sarah Connor died of cancer.
But I think in this timeline she dies in 2005,(?) but in T3, she dies no later than 2000.

Re: The New Terminator Tv Show
T3 says she died in 1997.
That said, Sarah Connor Chronicles doesn't even work with T2's timeline, so I think it's best we avoid dates. Sarah dying of Cancer is clearly inspired by Terminator 3, and I just don't know how you can make this work in that kind of timeline.
Do we jump back a decade for Sarah to die? Does John forget that there's a new Terminator every week?
Aye-aye-aye-aye-aye. I feel like Alpha 5.

Aye-aye-aye-aye-aye. I feel like Alpha 5. I was confused as to her death per T3. I know it says she lived to see that Judgement Day came and went...August 23 (?) 1997, but I don't know if thats all the info they gave. I put 2000, because that's the maximum given that John said she though Lukemia for years, three I think it was. Anyway, I agree, the timeline is best not to think of when watching this show.

The plaque said she died in 1997. John said she lived for three years after diagnosis, so she had to be diagnosed right after T2.

Ah yes, I'm forgetting that scene. The Terminator timeline was confusing before this show. One can only imagine how it will be after it.

Re: The New Terminator Tv Show
Yeah, tonight's episode was good enough for me to come back next week, but... as far as 'official' Terminator goes, I think I'll consider T3 the real follow-up to Judgment Day.

Re: The New Terminator Tv Show
Tonight's episode was better as the dramatic scenes worked better than they did in the premiere. Tonight's episode needed more action though.

I don't know, I rolled my eyes at the one real action piece. "Didn't we just do this about nine minutes ago?"

Re: The New Terminator Tv Show
Seriously, the number of plot inconsistencies with the Terminator canon makes my brain bleed (don't get me started on the time machines built).
Anyway, did anyone notice Charley's wife is played by Penny from Lost? And her "first appearance" is from a photo?

Re: The New Terminator Tv Show
"And I love you, Penny."
I liked last night's episode. It's been a while since I saw T2 and T3, so I'm not too bothered by any inconsistencies with the rest of the Terminator franchise.
Anyway, I think the show is working well enough to keep me watching. I like the leads too. Nothing really offends me about the show.

Re: The New Terminator Tv Show
Summer Glau is sorta pretty, but. There are some shots on the show where her face makes her look like she's about 8 years old. Which is fucking creepy.

too soon people at FOX, too soon. What? The pantomime recreation (for the viewers anyway) didn't convey the gravity of the events adequately enough for you?

too soon people at FOX, too soon. Too soon?! You're joking, right? Countless movies have been made about the events of that day yet a sci-fi TV show shouldn't mention it? If anything, not mentioning it would have been a mistake.

Speaking of cute, Cameron (homage to James Cameron?) trying to lean against the truck grill, like the Latina gangbanger, is extra.
