 Re: Chicago Film Critics Nominations
The Kite Runner is still in this thing. Its reviews have climbed back up to fresh, and I could see it showing up at BFCA tomorrow, and maybe even GG. It's a film that may only need to be in the 70% range at RT and MC (currently 69).

Remember, Sweeney Todd & There Will Be Blood both have had the disadvantage of having not been seen by everyone yet, even if they have been available for screenings. I think all the awards handed out a week or so from now and on will be true everyone-has-seen-everything awards

I think she's looking good for a Globe nod as well. Hopefully Apatow has many, many friends in the Academy. Please? I would blow a nut if she was nominated. Seriously.

I start to think more and more that NCFOM is going to actially end up winning Best Picture.
Ya know, if it doesn't, it'll probably be considered one of the biggest snubs ever. I mean it's close to pretty much sweeping the critics awards.
Daniel Day-Lewis seems also locked for a Best Actor win. A surprise might happen, but very unlikely. His performance seems to be one for ages.
Best Actress, I still think it's HIGHLY competitive. No actress REALLY has the edge now. I think Page, Cotillard and Christie might all win it.

To me it still wouldn't be a bigger snub than Brokeback Mountain was, which pretty much literally swept it all. And it was snubbed by Crash of all films - terrible, terrible blemish on the Academy. Peace, Mike

Or at least that's what I assume based on widely predicted nominees thus far. The season is still young, and the Academy could go ahead and nominate this year's Crash and make it win. Peace, Mike

 Re: Chicago Film Critics Nominations
good point. the potential lineup this year is pretty great. No Country, Atonement, There Will be Blood, Sweeny Todd, Juno. If the ones I havent seen dont disappoint, that'd be a terribly strong group. just please, please not Clayton or American Gangster.

 Re: Chicago Film Critics Nominations
Well, but thing is that NCFOM is pretty much one of the 5-10 most acclaimed and praised and beloved movies of this decade. I dont think BBM comes close.
