Fred Claus is on the front page, with a caption that reads, "Critics have trashed Fred Claus...". Expect the grade to take a hit.

Re: Yahoo Review Thread - American Gangster, Bee Movie, MC
break up had 82.6 wedding crashers had 103.6 (though that wasrated r and in july)
being a more family friendly film; look for a ratio around 70-90.
FRED CALUSE is at 45 written reviews (but its onthe frontpage) ut due its clogness; its rating are probably around 130-140; so it looks like it could be off to a decent start.
Its only noon; so i doubt the frontpage will affect its overall ratio.

Lions for Lambs is exploding due to an onslaught of negative reviews. Folks sure have a lot to say about the film.

Lions for Lambs - 362 (59), +225 (+31) D (down from D+) Fred Clause - 630 (100), +283(+37) C+ P2 -29 (4), C- yeah; fred clause (and is ratio) is exploding; then again it has 6 times as many ratings as reviews so its ratio cant be too high. It wont be over 200; so things def. look good for 10 million+ so far; though its early.

Re: Yahoo Review Thread - Fred Claus, Lions for Lambs, P2
We need someone like Xiayun to update the ratio without the obvious bias of the WB pimp. RT is doing a good job though of at least being impartial

None of the grades so far are impressive, pretty much matching their Rotten Tomatoes counterparts.

Has any movie ever received an F? Seems impossible.
Lions for Lambs dropping to a D already is something.

Lions for Lambs dropping to a D already is something. I guess Cruise backlash isnt over just yet. At worst the movie would have received a grade like REndition without the Cruise factor. It might be worrisome for Valkerie. Cruise has now become the Costner of the 90s after Waterworld

Re: Yahoo Review Thread - Fred Claus, Lions for Lambs, P2
Bee Movie didn't even do half that for the whole day. So will Fred Clause open higher? Or will it just have a lower ratio? I think it should make 10 million at least and I could see it breaking the 30 barrier.

It got out of the gate very slow in the early morning hours - something Bee Movie did not do. Still, with the raw total, a $10M day is a realistic starting point for projections.

Re: Yahoo Review Thread - Fred Claus, Lions for Lambs, P2
it didnt get out slow; it was clogged the entire morning. As of Noon est it had 33; it was clogged hence why it randomly added 300 and then 280 over the next 2 updates.
now thats it evened out; it should see a steady diet of 80-100 increased. It ratio will be over 100 fo rsure now but it wont top 200. It's 1:7 ratings-to-reviews ratio is much more inline with a typical kid/family film that a teenage comedy, which would normally signle a low ratio anywhere from 60-100, but because that would mean the film is potentially already closing in on 10 million by noon pst as oppsed to the end of the day; it's gonna be high.
but not that high. Unless it REALLY begins to slow down; 12 million seems like the minimum.
Or yahoo wont be accurate and well have to go by crowd reports.

Re: Yahoo Review Thread - Fred Claus, Lions for Lambs, P2
I dunno; its early but I think Yahoo! will pretty much be out the window with FC. The numbers point to something potentially a lot bigger than we all think itll do.

Re: Yahoo Review Thread - Fred Claus, Lions for Lambs, P2
I guess we will have to see. How reliable is MTC? Have they been off before? Might have to keep an eye on crowd reports to see. What is hard to know about Fred Clause it being a family movie it is hard to predict what will show up. Can it capture the same audience that made The Santa Clause such a huge hit back in the 90's? Although, I think that movie got better reviews than this one has.
