Langella has a great chance at the veteran spot this year. I wonder who he'll steal it from. At this point, chances to be nominated are getting slimmer and slimmer for James McAvoy with Day-Lewis, Langella, Depp, Clooney, Washington and probably Mortensen all ahead of him, I'd say.

I'd say Washington's in trouble. AG is getting rejected everywhere, and I don't think his reaction was ever as "omg" as it was expected to be. Personally as even the biggest AG supporter here, I thought Crowe was probably better. Re: LAFCA Winners Announcement poor France. Diving Bell and Persepolis are probably the two most-raved foreign-language films of this year, yet they had to exclude one of them [Diving Bell] for Oscar contention. I wonder if Diving Bell will pick up an Adapted Screenplay nom or something...it's doing FANTASTICALLY at these early awards.
