I think I'll change my pick to Atonement
My gutsy prediction: There Will Be Blood doesn't show up in the top 10.

Re: National Board of Review Countdown Thread
Although I haven't seen it yet (shame on me) I really hope Ratatouille will win this. It needs something like that to send a signal to the Academy to include it in the BP race. It's overdue that an animated film shows up there again

Re: National Board of Review Countdown Thread
Ratatouille winning would be awesome, but I'm totally on the Into the Wild bandwagon this year. If it doesn't win this award, I'm sure it'll pick up Best Picture in several other award ceremonies leading up to the big one.

But for me, it's a two horse race betweeen DDL and Depp. What will hurt Hoffman is that his roles might have the votes split. Apparently, all three of them are pretty good and that's rather bad for him, as ironic as it may sound. Depp and Washington are tied for the runner-up spot, IMO. I am very unsure on the Best Actress win, though, just guessing Adams. For Best Sup. Actress, I expect something rather unexpected, just like they awarded O'Hare last year, they might go with Tomei or one of Atonement's ladies.

Re: National Board of Review Countdown Thread
I'll steal Awards Daily's predictions and pass them off as my own, with a couple changes:
No Country for Old Men The Kite Runner Michael Clayton Into the Wild Charlie Wilson's War Ratatouille Atonement There Will Be Blood Sweeney Todd Juno
Winner: No idea. No guts no glory? Into the Wild.

The only one I could think of that was strong enough was Laura Linney for all her performances, and I put her as an alternate. PSH recently won Best Actor with the NBR, so I saw him as being out. And I think Day-Lewis and Depp are much stronger. I see Depp as winning the Best Actor award here. We'll see in a few hours. Peace, Mike

Apparently, all three of them are pretty good and that's rather bad for him, as ironic as it may sound. Except NBR rewards actors/directors for multiple works in one year, such a Soderbergh winning for Erin Brokovich and Traffic in 2000, or Blanchett in 2001 for the 398 films she did that year. So both films really work to is advantage. What's working against him is that he won two years ago already for Capote. I don't think DDL is winning this one though, just 'cause.

Re: National Board of Review Countdown Thread
Hmm... maybe they'll give Atonement best ensemble... I doubt it will appear anywhere else except maybe breakthrough actor but I think we'll get surprised with that one.

Yeah, that's what I'm seeing (as was in my predictions). I think Atonement will win Best Ensemble, while something else will win Best Film. I predicted There Will Be Blood, but it could just as easily be No Country or Sweeney Todd. I put Charlie Wilson's War as my alternate for Best Film... I'm being gutsy. It may not even be put as one of the top 10. lol. Peace, Mike

Yeah, both Oscarwatch and NBR won't load for me. Meh.
I always thought Oscarwatch itself was okay, it was just the forums that overloaded. Oh well.

Not the best film but she's fucking nuts in it. Wouldn't be shocked to see her name here. I actually did not like the movie. But Marion is splendid in it. Makeup and all...

Was it NBR that was delayed like 12 hours last year?
