30 Days of Night - 114 (42), +17 (+5), B- The Comebacks - 77 (10), +13 (+1), B- (up from C+) Gone Baby Gone - 41 (6), +7 (+0), A- (up from B+) Rendition - 64 (13), +6 (+0), B Sarah Landon and the Paranormal Hour - 23 (6), +8 (+4), C Things We Lost in the Fire - 26 (1), +5 (+0), B Doesn't look too hot for 30 Days of Night. I put its ratio at 90-100, a little lower than The Hill Have Eyes. Most of the others should be around that range too or lower, except for Sarah Landon. The raw reviews should give a pretty good comparison between the R-rated films.

30 Days does look a little soft. I was concerned about it with Saw IV around the corner, but was banking on fresh material bringing in an audience.

Come on 30 Days, you can disappoint, can't you? I believe in you, especially with Hartnett as the lead.

None of the films are setting the world on fire, and 30 Days may not even hit 400 reviews. Ouch.

Re: Yahoo Review Thread - Oct 19, 2007
Ok now i have come to a conclusion that hollywood should never release a horror R rated movie close to halloween because SAW movies come out that time.
In 2005 Doom was released before Saw 2 and the OW was very dissapointing and it died at boxoffice.
In 2006 Grudge 2 came out 2 weeks before and it flopped too.
Today 30 day of night came and online signs aren't looking good. It will get annihilated next weekend thanks to saw 4.
SAW 4 is a event horror movie franchise for horror fans and they skip all horror movies that release in the same month as saw 4.

What was their prediction? $14M, which I initially believed to be too low.

30 days of night is not looking to good. I see it making a little over 4 million. That would give it around a 13-14 million weekend.

Re: Yahoo Review Thread - Oct 19, 2007
30 Days of Night has picked up some in the evening, but I agree with xiayun that $5M is a likely ceiling. I also see $2.0-2.5M for The Comebacks, $1.0-1.5M for Gone Baby Gone & Rendition, and $600-800K for Things We Lost in the Fire. Sarah Landon will be lucky to have a $200K day.
With all these films, at least one of the above may come in with an abnormally low ratio, so there is a little more hope.

Re: Yahoo Review Thread - Oct 19, 2007
I'll say it, that would be pretty much dreadful for every release, especially 30 Days of Night with the high expectations.
Is it a good/bad/indifferent sign for Saw IV that 30 Days is (most likely) disappointing?

I think $2 million is the ceiling for the Comebacks.
