But Edgar Wright?
And what's a Neil Marshall?
The director of Dog Soldiers and The Descent Yos....................horror movies
Actually even though I love the guy he isn't top 20 material for me in reality but I was hoping a high placing would push him onto the list.

Price, I blame the school systems. And Jesus.
While we're on the subject, I wanted to introduce P&P to some friends, but I wasn't sure where to start. What was your first? I can't remember if mine was Colonel Blimp or Black Narcissus.

And please, no fighting because of taste. Everyone has a different one, and if you like something, who am I to say if it's good or bad.
What I don't like is when people generalize, and automatically say something old must be bad or viceversa, that because it's new it can be as good as something old. Be open to everything and give it a chance.

I actually caught the Descent a few weeks ago. Didn't like it much. But apparently my mother did.

First one I saw was The Tales of Hoffman, then Red Shoes, Black Narcissus, Colonel Blimp, I Know Where I'm Going and the last one A Matter of Life and Death.
Before all that, I had seen Peeping Tom, The Battle of the River Plate and They're a Weird Mob by Powell alone.

I tried to say that, but your words were better : )
Anyways here's my ballot. Kind of uninspired, mostly because I haven't seen a third of the movies I'd like to yet.

I just looked up this Doomsday stuff.
So it's 28 Days Later with an action bent, starring Malcolm McDowell, Rhona Mitra, and Bob Hoskins?
hahahahahahahahaha
I suspect Joe will be name dropping it in one of the Direct-to-DVD threads any moment now.

I assume by the pretentious comment trix was referring to yosh and makeshift pretending their taste is better than anyone else's.
Not everyone's, just your's.
Thanks for confirming my point
There is really nothing that says you have > or < taste than me, trix, Zingaling, or that schlub across the street.
Oh you know, except things like context, general consensus, history, knowledge, etc.
Look, I'm not saying that I know all there is to know about movies. That's not possible, and I would never assume anything that asinine. There are thousand of amazing movies I have never seen, and hundreds of movies I love that I probably shouldn't (and will look back on in great embarrassment). But what I am saying is that there are instances of absolute truth in everything, and this includes movies. Rob Reiner not being one of the 20 greatest directors of all time is one of these instances. To dismiss this with something like "Well it's just my opinion, and all opinion's are equal and valid" is nonsense. If all opinions are the same, what is the point of talking about anything? What is the point of watching movies if what you like has the same value of what everyone else likes?
Anyways, Price requested this conversation not take place, so that be it from me I 'spose. But what I'm trying to say in a roundabout way is I ain't mad at ya boo (boo being Shack, naturally).

Not with a budget of 17 million pounds, one of the biggest in UK film history they won't

I'm not saying all opinions are equal or valid, I'm just saying that 'fighting' because of them is stupid, especially in a place so trivial like a movie forum.
e.g. Yoshue loves Woody Allen. I didn't include him in my top 100, but at least I watched his movies before having that opinion of them. I love the Hammer movies of the 50s and 60s. I don't know if Yoshue likes them or not, but if he doesn't, who is to say that his taste is better than mine?
