#7 Edward Norton, American History X (1998)
13 votes, only 4 top 20s, but they are all top 10s.

Amazingly, accumulated the same number of points as Pacino, and have 7 top 20s to be ahead. 13 votes total is also among the highest.
And yes, she is the highest female. So so so so so overrated!

And Jon is wrong again! #6 Tom Hanks, Forrest Gump (1994)Two points separate Hanks from Norton, which is pretty big with only 21 votes.

AWESOME!
I actually think his Philadelphia performance is slightly better, but I didn't think it wouod get enough support.

I have a feeling that at least 17 of mine will make it.
Though I'm shocked Jamie Foxx didn't make it for Ray.

#3 Jack Nicholson, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975)
This is really on the strength of widespread support: no top 3s, but 7 top 20s and 15 votes total.

#2 Samuel L. Jackson, Pulp Fiction (1994)
Very much surprised that Jackson could place this high, let alone seeing him stay neck-to-neck near the top and be even ahead before the last three votes decided it.

Jackson got the first 11 votes with 5 top 20s and 3 top 10s and only trailed off later.

And as predicted:
#1 Anthony Hopkins, The Silence of the Lambs (1991)
Strength across the board: 15 votes, 9 top 20s, 7 top 10s, 4 top 3s, and won by a comfortable margin of 6.5 points.

Re: WOKJ's 100 Greatest Performances: Complete!
My thoughts on the rest, ones I missed
14. Harrison Ford - Raiders of the Lost Ark - Good performance, not top 15. Got in on the strength of the film obviously and lots of 20-100s. 13. Peter O'Toole - Lawrence of Arabia - Thought it was a top ten lock, this was actually a bigger surprise than Bette to me. Again, no volume, high rankings got it here but didnt do anything else. 12. Humphrey Bogart - Casablanca - Expected. Wasnt on my list but very good performance anyways. Made it higher than I thought. 11. Robert De Niro - Taxi Driver - Bril performance and in my top 10 10. Peter Sellers - Dr. Strangelove - Another great performance, but man Levy was right, the last 4 and Bette should've been top 10, that only spells doom for the real top ten 9. Al Pacino - The Godfather Part II - Great performance, surprised it seperated itself from #1 so much. Pacino is better in Dog Day though. 8. Frances McDormand - Fargo - LOL, what??? I like her work but not any more than Bridges and Goodman in The Big Lebowski. Totally in shock. 7. Edward Norton - American History X - I had a sense this was coming when it didn't appear on the first 80, but damn, that's bloody high. Not looking too good. 6. Tom Hanks - Forrest Gump - <3 you Gump. My boy. 5. Johnny Depp - Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl - Expected, but still yuck. I was hoping for 11-15 for Depp, got the opposite end of the spectrum. 4. Marlon Brando - The Godfather - I actually thought he could win it coming in, #4 isn't bad. A given. 3. Jack Nicholson - One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest - Good choice, The Shining is still my favorite Jack. 2. Samuel L. Jackson - Pulp Fiction - BAD ASS MOTHERFUCKER! Right where I put it. Probably higher than it deserved, but I just love him here. Coolest character ever. 1. Anthony Hopkins - The Silence of the Lambs - Eh, it's a very good performance, but it's not my favorite Hopkins(Remains of the Day is) and it's not really the best ever. Expected as #1 though.
