They both have over-the-top action and ultra violence, actors who have never proven themselves to be draws, similar theatre counts, same distributor, and lack of appeal towards women. Interesting that you mention Running Scared as I saw that for the 1st time last night. Surprisingly not a bad film at all.

Re: Yahoo Review Thread - 3:10 to Yuma, Shoot 'Em Up
3:10 could get up to 800-850 reviews... And it's ratio could be anywhere from 85-120... so anywhere from $7-9 mil looks likely. Which is good As for SEU... 98 is the lowest ratio I can see it getting. And with that... $3 mil MAX, but more likely around $2 mil.

I'd go for more of a 150 ratio and $6 million opening day, enough for a $16-17 million weekend, still larger than expected.

Munkatouille wrote: xiayun wrote: Right now I see $4m for 3:10 to Yuma and $2m for Shoot 'Em Up. Why so low?!? That's like a 200 ratio! It only got about 300 reviews after removing from front page at 11am PST, so without the help, we'd be looking at a 500-review finish, which would point to more like $5m.

Re: Yahoo Review Thread - The Brave One, Mr. Woodcock, D-Wars
For a film that should have a topheavy Internet following, Dragon Wars has a very slow written pace this morning - about 1 an hour (it started around 20).

Among openers, Mr. Woodcock is the first one to show up on the front page today. A bit strange.

Mr. Woodcock didn't generate very many reviews while it was on the front page. There's no way this hits tracking.

Glad to see Dragon Wars has a good number of reviews and a nice grade. What's its projected ratio? Around 400 perhaps?

Omni wrote: Glad to see Dragon Wars has a good number of reviews and a nice grade. What's its projected ratio? Around 400 perhaps? D-Wars grade is very suspect: it's either A+ -- best movie of 2007, or F -- the worst film I've ever seen, with very few "average" grades. At the moment there are more A+'s, which average to about B.

From the looks of yahoo reviews, Mr Woodcock needs some big time viagra since the counts are very stiff
