53The Proposition (2005) A dark western. Charlie Burns (played by Guy Pearce, one of my favorite actors) and his brother of the Burns gang are captured by the police. Captain Stanley, played wonderfully by Ray Winstone gives Charlie Burns a proposition. Find and bring his brother Arthur to justice and he and his younger brother will be pardoned. He has until Christmas or his younger brother will be hanged. That is where the story starts out. It is slow paced, as most westerns are, but makes up for that slow place with a dark and wonderful musical score. Portrays the harshness of the old timey outback quite well. Danny Huston is the highlight of this film performance wise in a movie full of great performances, as he plays the monster Arthur Burns to chilling affect. The movie builds and builds until a satisfying conclusion. One of the best westerns made. (that I have seen) Favorite Scene: Christmas Dinner

52Ravenous (1999) A quirky... horror film I guess, set around the time of the Mexican/American war Captain John Boyd (played by Guy Pearce) is promoted to Captain, but then later the real story behind his bravery comes to light and as punishment is sent to an isolated fort to serve. Not long after a stranger straggles into the fort with a tale of his traveling party and how in order to survive the leader of the party started to eat the others. They go to investigate... and that's where I shall stop. Quite a bit different than a traditional horror movie (hence why it is on my list), this cannibalistic tale is not scary, but often wicked, funny, and fun. Also has a quirky, yet well done musical score. Favorite Scene: Make it quick.

Last one for tonight. Tomorrow, top 50! 51Serenity (2005) This was a blind buy. What a great blind buy. The movie is fantastically fun, full of hilarious dialogue, thrilling action sequences and so on and so forth. Nathan Fillion is just way too cool in this movie. Too cool for school, even. I wish it did better at the box office, cause I would definitely want a sequel to this. Favorite Scene: Getting the word out Favorite Line: "You wanna run this ship?!" "Yes!" "Well... you can't."

50Terminator 2 (1991) Obvious choice. For a reason, though, the movie kicks ass. Favorite Scene: Trust me How hard did I cry? I know now why you cry, but it's something I can never do. YOU GUESS!

49Dave (1993) An immensely likable film. Both funny, charming and sweet. Kevin Klein is perfect as the wannabe president, and Ving Rhames adds a lot in his limited role as a secret service agent. Just a perfect comedy. Favorite Scene: I would have taken a bullet for you Favorite Line: "I would have taken a bullet for you" How hard did I cry? That line made me tear up.

48Dr. Strangelove (1964) The only Kubrick film I like. Often times one part of his movie is great, while the other parts are not. This one was perfect all the way through. Fantastic comedic performances from... oh just about everyone involved. Only seen it once  need to watch it again.

46Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989) The best Indiana Jones movie, thanks to the delightful Sean Connery as Indiana's father. Again, Ford is perfect in the role, and Jones is one of the best characters ever created for Cinema! He sure does crack wise, and does so at a 98.73% effeciency rate. I also liked that John Rhys Davies was back in the film, as I had always liked his character. This movie brings back the magic that Raiders of the Lost Ark had, which was lost in the horrendous Temple of Doom. Except this time, with Connery! Favorite Scene: The trials

45.512 Angry Men (1957) Watched this for the first time recently, and was a great movie like most say. Manages to make a movie set in one room with 12 guys talking compelling entertainment. My one knock on the film is that there are not 12 angry men. Totally false advertising, only like 7 of them ever got mad. Despicable. Favorite Scene: Baiting him How hard did I cry? I welled up once or twice, but no real tears fell.

last 5 for today 45One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975) One of Nicholson's best performances. A movie that takes a look at the treatment of mental illness. Ended up watching this for my high school psychology class, talking about how mental wards have changed over time, when people like Nicholson's character would not be admitted into one of these wards. While I find the book to be much better (and I suggest anyone read it.. the most I've cried during any book), the movie is still great. Guess that tells you how good the book is! The ending of the movie happens to be both heart breaking and also a moment where you're cheering inside (while crying). An outright classic. Favorite Scene: The chief gets big

44Catch Me if You Can (2002) Spielburg does it yet again with his best movie of the 2000s... by far. This is the movie that really got rid of my distaste for Leonardo DiCaprio. He plays Abignale extremely well. The movie follows Abignale as he spends his time flying across the country while impersonating a pilot, farging checks and stealing millions. Tom Hanks is good yet again as the agent chasing him across the country. The movie has many moments of greatness, both fun and emotional. Even with DiCaprio and Hanks both giving great performances, probably the best of them all is Walken as DiCap's father, whose performance manages to be surprisingly touching and depressing... One of Spielburg's best. Favorite Scene: Then ask me to stop

43The Incredibles (2004) What used to be Pixar's best film. While I agree with some of the other critics that the best part of the film is seeing the super heroes trying to cope with being normal, the rest is still a lot of fun. I disagree with many people who say this isn't a comedy, this movie is hilarious, which is why it was my favorite Pixar movie. Seeing the baby uniform get shot with machine guns was quite hilarious. It could have been top 10 material if the entire movie had been more like its first 30 minutes... but then it wouldnt have made 260 million I suppose. Favorite Scene: Going "bowling"

42Twilight Samurai (2002) The 2nd best foreign film I've seen. If I had seen it more than once, who knows, it could end up my first. (notice a trend... I obviously need to watch a lot of movies more than once...). This is the tale of a Samurai working to support his family after Samurai have lost their status, so instead he has to you know... have a "real" job and is a joke to many in the town. Eventually he is called on to help subdue a criminal, which is an incredibly well done scene, both choreography wise and emotion wise. A bit slow paced, but a great movie through and through. Favorite Scene: Samurai showdown

41X2 (2003) The best comic book super hero movie ever made. Ever. Jackman again is perfect as Wolverine. McKellan again is perfect as Magneto. Picard again is perfect as Professor X. Great action combined with a serious tone elevate this above most other super hero movies. Favorite Scene: Storming the mansion

39Rounders (1998) A great poker movie. It helps that I like watching poker on TV, but even without that this is a lot like those inspirational sports dramas, except not as light hearted. Edward Norton is great as the card cheat Worm, and Matt Damon is fine as well as his long time friend who, after a bad beat, quits poker for good. He gets sucked back in, though, when Worm gets out of prison and finds out that he's in a nice heap of debt that he must pay off or bad things will happen to him. So, since Damon's character is such a good friend, he helps him out, which may not have been such a great idea. Favorite Scene: Flopped a nuts straight
