Have you seen it?
Frankly, I think the relentless way the media bashed the film would make Baby Jesus cry, not the film itself. It's only 90-ish minutes, it can't be THAT dreadful to watch.

What was so bad about it?
Frankly, I'm sure it's no worse than Saving Silverman, Stealing Harvard, or Daredevil (;))

Yeah, but what MAKES it worse? I could say that the new Lindsay Lohan movie that comes out in July or whenever it is that deals with Herbie sucks and it'd be just as credible. I'm just curious as to what exactly MAKES Gigli so bad. Telling me it's worse doesn't do much. Get my point?

I haven't seen Gigli, but I'm sure it's not as bad as the reviews say. People seem to follow the buzz, even if they liked it.

Gigli. Having seen it http://naturalflux7.com/forums/showthre ... 4#post4274
Terrible film. It didnt even know what genre it was in. They should just make a genre called "Unwatchable" because this one took me a good four sittings.

Nobody mentioned Battlefield Earth, Batman and Robin, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 4 or The Master of Disguise yet. Unbelievable.
Those movies would anger Baby Jesus so much he'd take a cue from his dad and start roasting random people on the street.

Actually, yes. The only thing bad about it (Gigli) is it really doesn't go anywhere. The plot is just kinda... "eh". Other than that, some of the dialogue is embarrassing, but some of it's pretty funny, too. And Affleck does what he's supposed to do - play a meat head mob type guy. Sure, he's stupid and obnoxious, but he's supposed to be. It's not Eternal Sunshine, but it's not that bad, either.

I actually thought Saving Silverman was amusing in an incredibly stupid way. Heh.

I don't remember the actual movie but I do remember being completely and utterly bored. I was only 12 at the time (I think) and was much more lenient when it came to movies than I am now (though, not entirely a shift from a half glass full to a half glass empty guy...), but I honestly don't recall laughing at anything that wasn't intentional.
There's one movie that's 17292839203.54 times worse - Drive Me Crazy. I remember laughing once at something I shouldn't have - at a scene where a guy crashes into a car because he's drunk. I was forced into watching this one, though. Thank god the stupid teen comedies a la Loser, Head Over Heels, Boys and Girls, Saving Silverman, Drive Me Crazy, and Summer Catch aren't nearly as abundant today. Teen comedies hit it with Say Anything... and Pretty in Pink, gradually decreased in quality until hitting with Clueless, and since then (with the exception of Mean Girls, Cruel Intentions, and a couple others) have only gotten worse.
If it's ever on tv, maybe I'll watch it again, but it's the only situation I can remember where I nearly fell asleep (and wanted too).

Two "movies" released this year come to mind:
Envy Van Helsing
These pathetic excuses for films made *me* want to cry.

Are we still talking about Gigli?
If we are, I agree that it's pretty boring. Like I said, that's the worst thing about it - nothing really happens. However, it's not nearly as bad as people make it out to be, most of whom have probably never seen it.
