I weep for the future when this awful movie "Balls of Fury" is getting an A-.

"You're just saying that because you want 'Halloween' to do well..." Actually, that's not true because I'd give "Halloween" a "D."

Actually, all three major openers this week suck to high heaven -- and I've seen all three. I've been in a pissy mood all day because of how much two films, I was looking forward to seeing, suck so much more than I imagined they possibly could. The 3rd just rounds out the suckage.

Sometimes, the 3rd time is not a charm.

It truly pains me to say this, but none of these openers deserve the number 1 spot this week.

Halloween is off to a torrid start. It'll have a high ratio, but still. Death Sentence is pretty sluggish out of the gate.

I don't understand. By torrid he meant good, and it is indeed off to a good start to what should be a record breaking weekend, meaning this r-rated horror film is going to succeed.

Death Sentence is looking bleak.

Haven't had much time to think about it, but $10m looks good for Halloween. Balls of Fury should have a higher ratio today, so pretty much on the expected pace of $2-3m. $1.5m might be the best Death Sentence could hope for.

It was expected because the marketing was shit compared to other foxatomic films released this year.

Other than the trailers i didn't see any marketing for it on tv or even online.

Probably not. The impact of leaks is widely overrated - especially considering the number we're looking at.

The effect wouldn't be that significant. There's definitely a fanbase effect (haven't seen one like this in a while), but even with an outrageous ratio, it still looks good for at least $10m.
