 New DR WHO
I watched the first episode of the new Dr Who today; it was....pretty good in its own way.
Ok it was quite corny and definately over the top; but Billie Piper is a really good actress; but the writing was undecided and it all kind of bordered on so-bad-its-good.
Any opinons?

Absolutely terrible. It's like the BBC completely ignored every advance episodic television has made over the last 20 years! I almost couldn't bare to watch when Billie Piper's (clearly gay) boyfriend was replaced with an plastic clone. That Piper's character was apparently unable to see through the blatant facade of her clearly plastic boyfriend made the whole thing all the more horrifyingly embarrassing for all involved.
I suppose if you were to treat it like a day-time kid's show, it could be taken as mediocre fodder. But as a prime time, big-budget remake of a beloved classic show - it's one helluva misstep.
