I really don't think he'll be nearly as bad as one may think.

I don't think he'll be awful. I expect he'll be a lot like Kimmel, amiable and plastic. Only I like Fallon better than Kimmel.

So, we're going to sit around and watch him giggling at his own jokes all night?

Post Re: Late Night with JIMMY FALLON!
I knew this for a while. When Fallon was on the Stern Show (he was a really nice guy, by the way, so I have no problems with Fallon), he said that NBC was paying him money for basically nothing, but guaranteeing him that he'll be getting Conan's spot once Conan moves to The Tonight Show.

My problem is that when Fallon is interviewed, he's really nervous and he talks too fast so you can't understand him at times. And like juju said, he's constantly laughing and giggling at various stuff. I don't know how he'll pull off 42 minutes (thereabouts, minus a bit for musical guests/bits). I know he's able to do well enough, considering his SNL background with live TV (even though it's taped), but there must be more qualified people to host a late night show. Maybe there isn't! I guess time will tell. It just seems

I'm just accustomed to Conan's way of doing the show. Fallon can't be any worse than Leno as a talk show host, can he? No knock at Leno, I don't have a problem with him either.

I guess the big question is whether Leno is actually going to leave as planned next year.

I love Jimmy. He was a part of one of the funniest Weekend Update crews, and he played a part in one of the funniest skits in SNL history.

Ha! I only see like one episode of Kimmel a month. He's pretty hard to take.

This is Craig Ferguson's dream come true. If he can beat Conan in viewers (granted it wasn't anything special) then he should be easily be able to beat out Fallon.

I'll give Fallon a week or two. That is of course if he doesn't have a sidekick. If he does have a sidekick and his name just happens to be Horatio Sanz (I know it's never going to happen, but I can worry about it if I want to) I will never watch. I have a hard time though believing that he could be as good as Ferguson is. As much as I like Conan, I think Ferguson is being a little more inventive than he is right now.

Fallon totally got on my nerves during his time on SNL. I really liked him in Fever Pitch, though.

However, I can't imagine actively watching a show hosted by him. Meh.

Because ABC, CBS and NBC like competing with one another. We might actually have six next year if Jay doesn't want to stay retired, which by the way he talks during his show (he constantly mentions how NBC doesn't want him) is most likely the case, then there will probably be six late night talk shows by next year.

It would be huge if FOX could grab Leno. I'd hate to see ABC get him. Wouldn't Kimmel be pushed back an hour? I don't see them cancelling Nightline for Leno.

Anyway, I didn't even think about the possibility of a sidekick, but I don't really see it happening. It'll likely be an extension of Last Call With Carson Daly (by the way, I find it funny that everyone is saying that there's five late night talk show hosts, when Daly would make six with his little show after Conan). Just a host to try and grab younger viewers. I doubt Fallon will be anything special.

By the way, is he going to be in a suit every night, or his usual "I dress young to look young" clothes that I always see him in? A suit might help make him more mature. Unless I'm correct in the "going young" assumption.

I think if ABC gets Leno, Kimmel leaves for FOX (unless something changes on Dave's end). That is unless he gets a huge pay raise. That's the only way I could see him getting demoted to 12:30 (assuming Nightline is gone) and be somewhat happy about it. I don't think that's going to happen though.

As for Daly, he sucks anyways so he shouldn't count. I think the only reason people might give a damn about his show is because of the music. He gives horrible interviews, and he's only occasionally funny and that's when he's poking fun at himself. The sooner Daly leaves (which will probably be next year since he wanted the Late Night gig) the better.

I don't think the Fallon thing is going to work out for NBC though. Based on what he's done, if Chase couldn't do it, I don't see Fallon lasting too long. NBC should've just gone about it the way they found Conan.
