 Your favorite Lost character
With a cast this great and quite a fanbase on here, I thought this one deserves its own thread. Lost has pretty much the best cast ensemble I have ever witnessed on a TV show. Pitch perfect acting, great character work...
My favorite characters of the series have shifted throughout the seasons. Some of the characters I loved at the beginning only to start disliking them in Season 2 and start liking them again a lot in Season 3 (like Locke). Others gained more and more profile IMO (Ben, Desmond) and grew to become my favorites. Some other characters, I never warmed up to (Claire, Sun) and others I liked from the very beginning till now (Sawyer).
Now who are currently your favorite characters on Lost?
Mine would be in that order:
1. Desmond
2. Ben
3. Sawyer
4. Locke
5. Juliet
I also miss Eko, he used to be my favorite character in the second half of Season 2.

I voted for Sawyer. I haven't watched Lost since the beginning of S3 when all hope was gone that it wouldn't suck anymore, but I still always enjoyed myself some Sawyer.

Well, then I suggest you to finish Season 3...it improved big time.

I read all about how it got so much better, and I knew that it would just as soon as I stopped watching.
I was annoyed with S2, big time, for a long while but I kept telling myself that once I stop watching it will get better. I decided to give it until the first few eps of S3 to get better. It didn't, so I washed my hands of it.
Now I hear about how it got so so much better, and since I already own S1/S2 I may just buy S3 and give it one last shot, but there's this great big negative in the fact that Jack's still alive and hasn't been horribly gutted or something. He's awful and I hate him.
I'll see how I feel around Decemeber 11th.

Locke, not just because I think he's the most interesting character but also because Terry O'Quinn has been aces in the role and probably the best actor of the bunch. Desmond would be my second, followed by Sayid.
Eko leaving did really suck ( he was one of my favorties ), especially the way they killed him off and how bad they pulled off that whole plot line, it was rushed and sloppy, one of the worst parts of Lost thats for sure. Most likely because of contract negotitations and such.

Call me a traditionalist but I love me some Locke. Desmond, Juliet and Ben are also fun.

Actually, the actor asked to be written out of the show, because his parents had just died. It was rushed, but you can't really blame the writers for that.
It's still Locke for me, followed by Sawyer, Desmond, and Sayid.

I don't think I could choose one favorite. If I did, it would have to be Desmond or Juliet with Ben as a dark horse.
But by far my favorite THING about Lost is Penny and Desmond (together...their story... their love).
So, possibly my favorite character (Penny) hasn't even had a total of 60 minutes screentime throughout the series

1. Locke
2. Desmond
3. Juliet
We should also rank least favorite main ones. Personally, I can't stand Kate.

Sawyer and Desmond. Then Sayid and Kate. I was sick of Sawyer during the first six episodes but they really improved his character a lot as the season went on. By the end of the season I was wishing he was the leader, it would have given the series the freshening up it needs.

I'm with you and Raffi on this. Just like their story a whole lot.

Exactly... it's unexplainable. When she comes on screen or when Desmond thinks of her... my face just starts glowing and my heart starts racing. I feel as though if their story is not the focal point of the show in the end, I will be sorely disappointed. If they somehow make their love story the central underlying framework of the show... I will die happy.
I absolutely loved Kate's character back in the day. She had the potential of being something great for TV. but somewhere along season 2 they just stripped the complexity and intrigue from her character and I think she became more of a joke than Jack in the third season.
At this point, I think Hurley and Jin are pretty useless characters. But everyone seems to love them.
Of all the original characters, I'm most curious to see where they go with Sawyer next season.

Kate's good to look at but her character is incredibly annoying. Charlie always bugged me. Hurley's good for a laugh or two but that's about it. Jack's been getting better, his dark flash-forward coupled with his increasingly badass attitude on the island has made me like him more. I like Jin + Sun, but their flashbacks are so boring.
My all-time most hated character remains Boone, though. Man I hated him.

To my huge surprise I actually started liking Jack for the first time since the beginning of the series.
Currently, my least favorite (since useless) characters are Claire and Kate.

I quit watching after season 2, but up to that point my favorites were the polar bear, the dog, and the 200 foot tall T-Rex that ate the pilot.
