Well, there was a lot of bad, some good, and some downright WTFs.

Let's start out with the bad first:

No Six Feet Under for Drama Series.
No Griffiths, Ambrose, or Hall.
No love for the Scrubs actors (shocking, right?)
I'm sorry, Kevin James?
I'm sorry, Charlie Sheen???
Two and a Half Men in general

The lead actor guy on Law and Order: SVU wasn't so much disappointing as it was yet another baffling nomination.

Is he the guy that beat out Hugh Laurie for a nomination?

I'm also surprised at the lack of nods for The Sopranos. I thought for sure the Emmys would be wrapped up for the next two years with the final Sopranos season, but that certainly doesn't seem to be the case, at least not for Gandolfini and Falco, two Emmy favorites.

Some general WTF:

Lost and Desperate Housewives (a shutout of sorts)
Christopher Meloni?
Stockard Channing??? (Someone... tell me they're joking.)
No James Gandolfini or Edie Falco (both of whom were pretty much the biggest shoo-ins in their respective categories)
No Hugh Laurie
No Patricia Arquette

They desperately need to refine their nominating process AGAIN. Or maybe they should kickk all the voters out and get members who actually watch TV

The biggest shame is probably nominated House, but not Laurie, seeing how he is the best thing about the series...

WILL ARNETT!!!
The Office!
Scrubs!!
Jaime Pressly (Playmate to Emmy nominee)
Henry Ian Cusick for Lost

I also think that there shouldn't be any two episodes of the same show up for writing against each other. Pick the best one of them and leave it at that. There is currently too much good tv as to waste these spots

Oh, and I don't know if anybody saw this, but...

Outstanding Reality Program
Nominees:

"Antiques Roadshow" (1997)

"The Dog Whisperer" (2004)

"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" (2003)

"Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List" (2005)

UM... THAT'S RIGHT.

Last year Arrested was up for four episodes in writing.

Sheesh with all those those techs, High School Musical still couldn't get a made-for-tv-movie slot.

I'm quite baffled... I wish Jennifer Garner would have gotten a farewell nod at least for 5 great years.

No Housewives? I mean, the show certainly has taken a dip in quality, but the actresses are still damn good. Actually, I hope Jane Kaczmarek wins this one. Malcolm in the Middle has been unbreable to watch, but I always liked her in it and she has been nominated a million times already.

Kaczmarek and Cranston for Malcolm! YAY I do hope Jane wins actress finally as the person I'm most rooting for (Mary Louise parker) isn't even nominated.

Looks like the new voting procedure made it less predictable, but more stupid.

At least Patricia Arquette's wig isn't nominated.

I guess they didn't want Laurie winning the award. Cause then he'd go up on stage, and people would hear his british accent and it would totally ruin the show for everyone.

In protest, someone should broadcast Jeeves and Wooster on a big screen tv outside the awards.

If The West Wing wins everything, I'm boycotting.

I think it'd be really nice if Jane Kaczmarek won for Comedy Actress. The competition is far from fierce (two cancelled comedies, one other series ending, and one veteran newcomer).

The Drama Actress is the worst category for the second year in a row. I actually would have, at the very least, tolerated Patricia Arquette's nomination.

I still can't understand how House got nominated without Hugh Laurie being nominated. He is the show.
I might have better understood if Best Actor was a tougher category, but it isn't. WTF is Christopher Meloni doing there?

Don't get me started of Kevin James. Boourns, boourns.

What does Mr. Burns have to do with anything?

It's what I say instead of boo. Just like instead of shouting plain old "run" when I want someone to run, I add "you little horse".

Also don't get Julia Louis Dreyfus nomination either.
