 "Stephen King's Desperation"
Plot - When a sheriff arrests a writer, a family, a couple, and a hitchiker and throws them in a jail cell in the deserted town of Desperation, they must fight for their lives.
Is anyone going to watch this adaptation of the 1996 Stephen King novel? I'm taping it and will watch it after "House."

So basically its your typical Stephen King miniseries with the evil sheriff set in a small town. I seem like a sucker for those so I will watch it like I do for all of King mini series

He always uses Steven Weber, Tim Daly and Matt Frewer in most of his series

It's directed by Mick Garris who also directed "The Stand", "Riding the Bullet", The Shining, and "Sleepwalkers."

Not only I'm a sucker for Stephen King miniseries, but also Desperation is one of his best books. Been dying to see this for a long time now.

I read desperation only a couple of months ago. It was a quick easy read with quite a few cool sequences. Went a bit overboard on the religion aspect, but still... it should make a relatively fun mini-series. Nothing spectacular, but fun nonetheless.
When's it on?

It seemed alot weaker than other Stephen King tv movies/series but then again it was only 3 hrs long. I never read the book or anything but it seemed like another version of Sleepwalkers. Ron Perlman only had a 35 min appearance before he got killed off but then again he was part of that evil spirit

I have it sitting on my DVR. I watced the first fifteen minutes or so while getting ready for work this morning. I was surprised to see the ET kid as Peter Jackson, considering how early he's killed off.
Anywho, I'll finish it tonight, but so far it seems really over the top and goofy and extremely over directed by Mick Garris. Hopefully it gets better.

Almost as early on as that ET girl in Scream.
I rather liked it. I agree that the religious themes are overbearing, and that the dialogue is hokey, but Garris really captures the creepy atmosphere of the open desert, and the acting's pretty top notch.
