it was intresting with Ken, never knowing when he was gonna lose. Nancy Zerg sounds like a Bond villain, she won't last more than 3 shows.

That is the truly sad part. I bet she won't last tomorrow night. Anyone else think Ken threw the game? Maybe I'm thinking too much, but Fed Ex? Not knowing H&R Block? He knows 74 episodes worth of information, but didn't know that Final Jeopardy?

Nancy Zerg won with 14401, which was 1 dollar more than Ken's total going into FJ, I think Ken ended with 8799 or something like that. He's apparently going to be on Letterman tonight and is the subject of some Nightline story. I think he also makes an appearance on Regis and Kelly tomorrow as well.

-Notes
- He went into this game with about 75 wins (What's that about 15 weeks or just short of 4 months.
- He has won over 2.5 million
- He is the biggest winner in game show history
- The first set of questions has some Seinfeld types questions in it and some cast members speaking from tapes ( Bastards were promoting their DVD. )
- At the end of the second round,
Ken = 14400 = + 4400
Nancy = 10000 = -4400
David = -2800 = OUT
The question - Most of this companies 70 K workers work seasonally 4 months out of the year.
Nancy bet 4401 and won with H&R Block = 14401 - New winner
Ken said Fed Ex and bet 5601 = 8799

How could he miss that question? Even I knew that.

After watching the show, I realize it wasn't the Final Jeopardy question that did him in. Missing virtually back to back Double Jeopardy questions in Round 2, along with drawing a huge blank on a the last category, a sports category, assured his loss.
I was amazed at how much money and how quickly Ken wagered it on those Double Jeopardy questions. One question was about women's hat, the other a question about Patton and WW2 I believe.
It seemed almost as if he was goofing around with those Double Jeopardy questions.

Another Interesting footnote, the first round was all dedicated to Seinfeld, in case you missed it. Looks like Ken didn't know to much about it.
BTW, I have the episode on Tape. If you like to do a tape trade, email me with your collection.

Actually, the categories were dedicated to Seinfeld, not the questions. Only one category was all about Seinfeld.

I can't shake the feeling he lost on purpose.... he seemed too out of his ordinary from the beginning. Something about that smirk when he 'knew' that he couldn't get the second daily double told me he's faking it.
And even though I didn't know the answer to the Final Jeopardy question, it was one of the easiest ones I have seen on the show.
Anyway.... Nancy Zerg lost the next night and walked away with $2, ya $2... what a waste!

You know that Ken Jennings lost was planned right? He wanted to no longer be on Jeopardy so he answered the question wrong on purpose.

I don't doubt his loss was planned and I don't doubt his winning streak was rigged either. This kind of thing went on in the 50s, where game shows would find a relatively popular guy and put him on a winning streak and watch the ratings soar. It was chronicled in the movie "Quiz Show", which I suggest you guys rent, though I'd heard of this kind of thing long before that.

No, sorry I don't think he lost on purpose.
In the few games that I saw, he had such an air of confidence and that little sarastic sense of humor.
On the questions that he missed, he probably was shocked that it was happening and he was having a little cuckle.
Plus he could have been too disappointed as he last 4 months, 74 games and made 2.5 million.
And he probably can make money as a future speaker, consultant or something else. I bet there are people who would pay to hear him speak, give advice or just tell some stories.

I don't think it's out of the question, but HIGHLY doubtful that his entire run was rigged. But, I would not be surprised in the least that his last game was rigged, maybe even by him! I mean how much of Alex Trebek can one man take?

Nightline had a very interesting special on Jeopardy after Ken's loss, and from what they showed - with the amount of secrecy going on I would highly doubt that any jeopardy taping is rigged. The 50's showed it could happen, but with the fallout from that scandal I seriously doubt that any executive would even attempt rigging a game show.
As for Ken losing on purpose, I still don't get that impression. I get the impression that he was more lax and open to bigger betting on Daily Doubles, but to say that he purposely lost that game is a big stretch. He said he didn't lose that game on purpose, and I believe him. I know that he has to say that, but I wouldn't purposely stop winning 30K a taping, just because I got tired of it. Thousands of dollars is pretty good motivation to keep going. I don't think Ken would either.
Of course it's possible that it was rigged and/or Ken lost on purpose, but it's also possible that Christmas with the Kranks will win Best Picture and The Mountain on The WB will see a second season.
I believe he is appearing on Barbara Walters 10 Most Fascinating People of 2004 special on Wednesday, that should be interesting but I doubt we are going to hear anything insanely different than from other interviews.
