9/13/05
-Ratings Breakdown:
Fox roared to the winning finish line last night, with the series-premiere of drama Bones at an 8.4/13 in the overnights, 10.48 million viewers and a 3.8/11 among adults 18-49 from 8-9 p.m., followed by the second-season opener of House at a whopping 12.2/18 in the overnights, 15.7 million viewers and a 5.7/15 among adults 18-49 at 9 p.m. Bones was the highest rated Tuesday drama premiere on Fox since 24 on Nov. 6, 2001, while House increased on last year’s premiere (Nov. 16, 2004) by 8.6 million viewers (7.1 million to 15.7 million), and 111 percent among adults 18-49 (2.7/ 6 to 5.7/15). By launching its fall line-up early this season, Fox has proven there is much more to the network than just American Idol in the first and second quarters.

Also debuting last night were the WB’s Tuesday line-up of Gilmore Girls and Supernatural. Season six of Gilmore Girls (time flies!) kicked off with a healthy 5.4/ 8 in the overnights (#3t), 6.08 million viewers (#4), and a third-place 2.7/ 8 among adults 18-49 at 8 p.m., which was similar to its season opening performance one year earlier on Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2004. Lead-out Supernatural debuted with a One Tree Hill-like 4.3/ 7 in the overnights (#4), 5.49 million viewers (#4), and a 2.4/ 6 among adults 18-49 (#4) at 9 p.m. Retention for Supernatural out of Gilmore Girls was 80 percent in the overnights, 90 percent in viewers, and 89 percent among adults 18-49, with no audience fall-off in the second half-hour -- always a positive sign. Consider this a promising start for Supernatural.

As a reminder, total viewers and adults 18-49 are based on the fast affiliate ratings.

In second season-premiere news on NBC, a 90-minute edition of The Biggest Loser opened at a so-so 5.7/ 9 in the overnights (#3), 7.76 million viewers (#3), and a second-place 3.3/ 9 among adults 18-49 from 8-9:30 p.m. That led into the series-finale of Tommy Lee Goes to College (yes – it’s finally over!) at a typically minute 3.4/ 5 in the overnights (#5), 4.72 million viewers (#4), and a 2.2/ 5 among adults 18-49 (#4). Old faithful Law & Order: SVU capped off the evening at a first-place 8.3/14 in the overnights, 10.27 million viewers, and a 3.1/ 9 among adults 18-49 at 10 p.m.

Although ABC aired The World Music Awards 2005 last night, the network was lost opposite the increased number of original competitive programming options. Below-average rated repeats of ABC’s According To Jim (Overnights: #5, 3.7/ 6; Viewers: #3, 5.65 million; A18-49: #4, 2.0/ 6) and Rodney (Overnights: #5, 3.3/ 5; Viewers: #4, 5.47 million; A18-49: #4, 2.0/ 6) from 8-9 p.m. led into The World Music Awards 2005 at a mere 4.0/ 6 in the overnights, 5.17 million viewers, and a 2.1/ 5 among adults 18-49 from 9-11 p.m.

CBS scored a typical summer Tuesday, meanwhile, with its combination of a repeat of NCIS (Overnights: #2, 6.4/10; Viewers: #2, 8.53 million; A18-49: #5, 1.9/ 6), Big Brother 6 (Overnights: #2, 5.4/ 8; Viewers: #2, 8.06 million; A18-49: #2, 3.3/ 8), and Rock Star: INXS (Overnights: #2, 4.6/ 8; Viewers: #2, 5.89 million; A18-49: #2, 2.9/ 8). After obnoxious Ivette won the Power of Veto competition last night and ran through the backyard with that screeching yelling, the mirrors almost cracked in my house! Although we’re still stuck with Ivette, at least phony April is gone and maybe -- just maybe -- she moved her alliance to Janelle. You go, Janie!

Last, and very least in every half-hour, was UPN’s repeat line-up of Girlfriends (Overnights: 2.1/ 3; Viewers: 2.28 million; A18-49: 1.0/ 3), Half and Half (Overnights: 1.8/ 3; Viewers: 2.00 million; A18-49: 0.9/ 2), and R U the Girl With T-Box and Chilli (Overnights: 1.8/ 3; Viewers: 1.88 million; A18-49: 0.9/ 2) from 8-10 p.m.

That wasn't the premiere, it was a repeat. The new season starts Tuesday.

If you copy paste articles you MUST paste sources.

And furthermore Prison Break and few others on that list have achieved higher viewerships.

Show me please, because I did notice some tiny changes but the thing is that it is only .1 off and it didn't list it for all films.

where did you copy and paste that from????
Please... I need to know!

It looks very familiar to a site I used to go to... to check ratings. It's been a while and I forgot the site and rebooted my computer, so it's not in my favorites anymore.

Overnights are released earlier and faster and only measure the largest markets in the U.S. (Los angeles, New York, etc.).

This is in contrast to the Nationals that measure the entire U.S. viewership.

It took me a while, but I created my Excel Book. I have mostly everyshow from 8-11 pm. I have individual for all the shows, how they rank inside the network, and how they rank compared with other networks and such.

SO if anyone needs any specific show, tell me, post here if you wish, and I'll post it.
