 American Idol trying to replace Paula with Whitney Quote: rumor says American Idol will replace Paula Abdul with Whitney Houston
There might be a new, skeletal face at the judging table for American Idol 5, if rumors are correct. If Paula Abdul goes away (because of the Corey Clark drama? to host another show?), she could be replaced by Whitney Houston. Also allegedly under consideration is Mariah Carey.
The details, from MegaStar: “According to America’s Star magazine, producers of the show are desperate to have Houston on the panel if Paula Abdul leaves to become a judge on spin-off show So You Think You Can Dance?†I think it would be a great move. I mean she's equally insane but waaay more fun to watch. I could just picture her doggin' it up with Randy and the producers quickly cutting to the commercials when starts waving her finger in Simon's face...and then escalating.

If its True, i REALLY highly doubt Mariah Carrey will be a judge, Whitney? yeah, she desperately needs a job!
but nice choice, hell! we will finally have a judge that can actually sing!!, pretty cool hope its true!

I hope they replace her with Mariah Carry. That way maybe the ratings will go down a million or 2 
But seriously, if they are replacing Paula, getting Whitney would be great!

They need to replace Paula. She isn't a judge. She compliments everyone for every song they sing, even when they're horrible. All she says it's, "That was fantastic! I'm rooting for you!" or "Not the best song choice, but you know I love you and am still rooting for you!" Nothing she says can be taken seriously.

Whitney is more entertainingly weird than Paula. But why not add her as a fourth judge? Sure feminists everywhere will bash the show, but having those two loonies on the panel would be a riot.

Whitney Houston would be much better than Abdul. Houston would be enormously entertaining, whilst Abdul is just plain annoying. I hope Paula chooses to leave, and we get a new host, even if it's not Houston. A new female on the panel would be something refreshing for the next season.

If they get Whitney, ratings will plumment. She's less credible than Paula. Half of what she says doesn't make any sense. She'll probably come to work drunk or high.
Paula doesn't really give any criticism, but she's still important as a buffer to the harsh comments from Simon and Randy.

Umm, that article is almost three years old. :???:
She was a judge during American Idol 2, but she quit early on because she couldn't bare telling the wannabe singers that they sucked.
