I think this season has still been just a slight notch better than Season 1 in their respective covered time (like this season's 7(?) episodes versus last year's 7).
I would argue that the episodes Confidence Man and Walkabout of the first season are already better than the entire second season so far. By far and away.
In my opinion, of course.

David Fury (walkabout and other episodes) not written for an episode this season. I remember reading on AICN last spring that David Fury was leaving the show to work on a new fall show, I didn't make much of it at the time. The name is memorable so I recall it. He's writing for 24 now, according to IMDB.

Some spoilers, highlight if you like. Most were included in the SpoilerFix link above, however.
- Kate kisses Jack (note: yess! ;D.. although the preview looks like she regrets it. Go here http://www.lostlinks.net/ and click on Canadian Real Media Player. It'll show who she kisses). - The timer in the hatch counts down to zero (once again, go to http://www.lostlinks.net/ and click on the canadian real media player, and it shows the coutdown reaching zero). - Charlie-centric episode coming soon. From Kristin on E! Online: We see Charlie's struggle again very soon in his very own...flashback ep! Number 12. And they're going waaay back. I'm told that we meet his parents and his sister-in-law and see a lot of him and his brother, as adults and as kids. A reliable source said producers are looking to cast two young boys who can do impeccable Manchester, England, accents. Charlie's dad is a butcher. (Or a "bitcha" as I'd say in my own impeccable Manchester-y-ish accent.) - Both Kristin and Ausiello are alluding to Ana Lucia being a lesbian. Here is the question from Kristin's comment: From tivoteacher: Your rival spoiler Ausiello alluded to Ana-Lucia being a lesbian (someone told me--I would never read his trash). Any truth in that? Ausiello and I are BFF, sweetie, and if his stuff is trash, mine is the sticky film that congeals at the bottom of the basket. As for A-L, let's not forget that "Danny" can be spelled two different ways. That's all I'm saying!

[spoil]Danny/Danni can be spelled two different ways but her partner asked Ana if she wanted him to go beat him up.[/spoil]
By the way, the person who posted above that maybe Ana already knew Jack before the airport meeting and was playing at being a stranger, I agree that is likely. Even if the post was a joke.

This season has been up and down. The first 4 episodes were probably better than a lot of season 1, then Episodes 6 and 7 flat-out sucked. Episodes 5 and 8 were better than 6 or 7, but they weren't great. I have a feeling they can get back in a groove soon.

I think they could get back in a groove if:
1. They start focusing again on the people we used to see most: Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Charlie, Claire.
2. They get back a couple of the writers they lost.
3. They get the one female writer they had (who wrote Raised by Another) to write more episodes.
4. The monster eats Ana Lucia and the rest of the tailies except Eko.
5. Shannon and Boone haunt the group as ghosts.
The last two are sort of a joke but I can dream.

I agree on part 1. We bitch about our Jack and Charlie, but when they don't show up for episodes like they have now, they are most definitly missed. The big characters give the show nice flow it seems.

[spoil]Just because her partner said beat HIM up doesn't mean it can't be a girl. Especially since it could be very likely that Ana Lucia hid her sexual orientation from those at work to avoid the awkwardness and everything else that might possibly ensue. It doesn't rule out the notion of her being a lesbian. And the way both Kristin and Ausiello regarded those questions really makes you think. But who knows.[/spoil]

Hmm, I for one will not read the spoilers. I have been waiting for some cool surprises in Lost for quite a while now, I won't spoil any potential of them by reading them beforehand.
I just read andaroo's latest and that made me very happy too.

You should watch the canadian preview before you get your hopes up, she doesn't look happy after it.

Kate blowing up an abusive stepfather's house was entirely predictable, imo. Oh, well.
That scene between Locke and Eko in the hatch was one of the best moments this show has ever had.

The house blowing up while Kate drove away has got to be about the lamest thing I've seen on this show.
And I knew the very second they cut to Michael and the first "Hello?" came on that it was gonna be Walt on the other side.

Hands down, best episode this season. Perfect balance of characters, great editing, and for once, GOOD FLASHBACKS!! I was actually interested in them.
Mr. Eko's looking to be my new favorite character. Excellent role.
I don't see why everyone's disappointed with that explosion. It totally surprised me, since I didn't expect them to show something major in the first flashback. She finally released all of her anger.
