That was a great episode. I've seen them all and Diversity day was the funniest. Can't wait till next week. More racisim for Micheal.

Great episode, but one complaint. They are the last few episodes starting to show it in some sort of faux-widescreen look where they cut off the top and bottom to imitate seeing a movie on widescreen format. Comes across as pretentious, I didn't like it when West Wing or Enterprise did that either.
Other than that, thumbs up to what is developing into the best comedy on American TV, and better than the English version. Gervais character on the original was so ridiculous you could never imagine how he could keep his job more than one day, he seemed more like an mc at a nightclub. But on this version, the guy has that veneer of corporateness that is more believable.

I just thought it was hilarious how he picked the black guy auomatically for the team, and told the hispanic guy to wait for baseball! O man I was dying.
I love the secratary and her flirtacious relationship and 3 year engagement. It is all just .. great.
Love the show ... Hate it's ratings.

See, I think David was a much more believable boss than Michael. Both are very funny but Michael would have been sacked already. David never crossed the line, he just walked down it. Michael plays hopscotch with the line.

I never saw the british show ... so I have no frame of reference.
Regardless ... think about it ... they are going to be downsized ... they don't need to fire him yet. He is rather isolated, he is the boss, someone would have to tell on him, and as of yet, he is rather harmless. Would he really be fired? I have had bosses that are almost as dumb as him in real life.
He would be if someone complained ... otherwise how would they know?

Someone has already complained (Diversity Day).

That's a fair point, I was just looking at it from the angle of the Gervais character with his goatee and constant grin didn't really seem to work much, heh. But I get what you are saying, and that's true.
Also I noticed another difference. In the British version, the receptionist seems bored and subtlely regretful about her boyfriend, but in this one she seems to genuinely like him a lot.

David taking the money after he was made redundant to remake "If You Don't Know Me By Now" was hilarious.
I noticed the difference between Pam and Dawn as well. I prefer Pam by a slim margin, she's more agressive. I wonder if they will work in the art angle.

She seems to genuinly like him yes, but she still flirts ... and you can tell the fact that they have been together for 3 years with no marriage plans really eats at her.
The warranty thing was pricelesss.
I am gonna be pissed when this gets canceled after this year.

So, I finally watched ALL the episodes, completely in order, start to finish. I couldn't stop, and I wish I had another 30 episodes to run through right now. If this doesn't get renewed, it will be a travesty. The folks at NBC can't be thinking about losing ANOTHER comedy, can they? They only got three (Joey, Will and Grace, Scrubs) for next season!! Argh, I hope the mediocre ratings (okay, BAD ratings) don't kill it off. Maybe it will be another Watching Ellie, only it will return for more than just a second season, and not completely abandon the original premise, like Ellie. I could see this possibly getting some Emmy recognition. I hope so. The fine line between just right and too much for the Emmys is not distinguishable, so I'm not sure if it will be nominated or not. I hope so.
I love all the characters on the show. And, I also loved the original. Can't I love both? Pam is great, Michael is hilariously awkward, Dwight is funny, and Jim is charming, too. I like them all. The only guy I don't really have a lot to say about is BJ Novak (can't remember his name on the show). He wrote the Diversity Day episode, but on camera, he hasn't had much of a presence, and really belongs with the rest of the background characters, not in the main cast.

God I hope they:
-- Put it onto DVD
-- Pick up a second Season in a BETTER timeslot.
NBC sucks.

This is a sticky ... that must mean good things in terms of getting it renewed ... hopefully NBC will take notice.

NBC sucks.
They're putting "life as we know it" on DVD, and show watched by about 4 million people a week. Never saw the show, but I think there's room for a DVD of "The Office", but I also hope for a second season. I've watched the episodes twice, and plan on watching them all again!

God! I hope there is a second season. I will be mad if there isn't. I finally watched the original. It was funny but I like this one way better.

Seinfeld was a flop in its first season, so was Cheers. They need to nurture shows when they have something that isn't just another assembly line clone comedy. Maybe there will be a fan drive to get it renewed, I'm not that hopeful though.
