That one was hilarious! The characters are just so unique!

That kid with the giant afro cracks me up every time.

My favorite part is still the line, "Oh don't worry, I've been stabbed plently of times by girls. It only really hurts when they twist it, pull it out and stick it in again."

Yeah that was funny. :) A lot of great lines in that episode, like when the little girl said she wanted to be a doctor and he said there's already too many doctors and that she needs to focus on the pageant. The only downside I'm seeing is that they have fallen into a pattern of always ending happily. They need to mix it up a little.

Kinda disappointed by the last one. Comic timing wasn't as sharp as it has been.

Yeah there's been something holding this show back. I think it's Earl's brother, he's just always there and adds nothing. It would be ok if he was a recurring character but instead he's almost a co-lead, they need to make it more about Earl.

Also maybe too many flash backs and other stuff like that, the first few episodes was tellinga straight normal story.

Still pretty funny though.

Does anyone still watch this who liked it early on? I still like it but it seems to have lost it's edge, everyone is so nice now. I liked it better when his ex-wife was trying to kill him. Something about it seems too soft lately. But maybe I'm just being over picky?

I think I have seen all of the episodes so far. Last night's one I would say has been the worst so far. It wasn't very funny and a little too sentimental for this type of show.

I liked this one a ton. But it just seems like it's running out of ideas. I still love the show, though.

Good episode, but didn't like the sudden character change of Earl. It didn't seem like him to blame all of his actions on his Randy.

Didn't watch this but based on your comment I am wondering if maybe the show isn't happy with Randy and maybe they will move away from him.

and then there are the kindof disappointing ratings on their new Thursday night switch > This isn't Friends or Seinfeld to take on CSI > I for one had a tough choice to make on this one.

Good episode, but not the best. I'm starting to think that Earl is missing something. I don't know what, but there's something preventing it from really being top-notch.

Good lord. What happened to this thread?

Anyway, fine episode tonight. Not the best, but not the worst. I still prefer "The Office".

Christine Taylor is Ben Stiller's wife, correct? She was pretty good last night. Nice to see her something, as she was fantastic in DodgeBall.

Yep, that was her! She was pretty good. I kinda missed Jaime Pressly tonight, though.

She also played Sally Sitwell in Arrested Development, where Ben Stiller played a magician, crazy.
But yeah, I liked Earl at the get go but I get more and more dissappointed each week. :(

I sort of feel the same. I mean, I still love the show, but... if it wasn't for "The Office", I might be watching something else.

You guys are at the point I was a few weeks ago but then they had a couple of really funny episodes that redeemed it to me. They still have it, we have to realize that Seinfeld wasn't even all that funny the first season, and the Office had a half-season before this one to get into it's groove.

The Office seemed really shaky to me earlier in this season but now it feels like possibly the best show on TV. So I have hope that the Earl show-runners will tinker with things and smooth it all out.

Yeah, I hope you're right. Earl is still good, but I think they'll smooth everything out by Season 2. Hopefully.

They need to get rid of the painfully unfunny Earl and Randy bed-scenes at the end... but other than that, I think Earl's been at the top of its game throughout the first season.

For the record, I've yet to see last night's earl, so if there's no bed-scene at the end... shut up.

Drunken Joy had me really laughing which is rare for me on a sitcom.

That was my favourite bit. In particular, her facial expressions while she hovered around that giant drink trying to get her mouth around the straw were hilarious. I must've skipped back to rewatch that about ten times, and it never failed to make me guffaw.
