Re: "Glee" Thread - Sept 9 as scheduled!
Complain complain complain I'll never understand why people keep watching a show they actually seem to hate. I'm not talking about on this forum entirely, but there are so many Glee haters who KEEP WATCHING IT EVERY WEEK. Just stop if all you're gonna do is bitch about the show.
Anyway, I really liked the episode. Everyone actually had something to do.
I love the relationship between Kurt and Rachel. Don't Cry for Me Argentina was a little overblown but, you know...it's Glee. I'll go with it.
I'm glad we weren't hit over the head so much with Kurt and Karofsky this week. I also think Kurt now being a small fish in a big pond will be an interesting arc.
Hey Soul Sister has become easily one of the most obnoxiously overplayed songs ever but I still enjoyed The Warblers' rendtion (although not as much as Teenage Dream).
Brittany and Artie are surprisingly...cute? And I continue to adore Brittany as a character. Comic genius. And yes, she and Mike Chang definitely had some moves.
I was into all the relationship drama, actually. I still ship Will/Emma, and Finn and Rachel breaking up actually was kinda sad.
I also really liked I've Had the Time of My Life, even though I'm still not quite sure I'm feeling Chord Overstreet/Sam. Dianna Agron has a much thinner voice than the other female cast members but I think it's pretty, and it worked for the song.
Santana with Valerie was pretty awesome. Santana has become one of my favorite characters with her relentless mean girl fierceness (woah mouthful).
And finally: Dog Days Are Over was fun. I feel like we haven't heard Tina sing in forever so I'm glad the writers remembered Jenna Ushkowitz exists.

The thing I liked the most about Dog Days was the stage performance. For the first time if felt and looked like something a glee club would spontaneously do.

Love love The Living Years but they really cut the song on the show. The full version is really good. I thought Time of My Life was weak. Could have been amazing with stronger vocals. and can you say Pricess Lea?!? She's amazing! Killed it on Don't Cry For Me Argentina.
and oh yes.. Darren Chris is such a hottie. Yay Glee!!

The "Baby It's Cold Outside" scene has leaked. So glad the Blaine/Kurt scenes always seem to. I have been dying for this next week's GLEE because of this, and now I can just watch this clip over and over again. It's absolutely terrific. I am so in love with the character of Blaine and Darren Criss. He's made GLEE even more exciting, and this is a wonderful duet. It warms my heart. Love Darren's adorable facial expressions.

Wasn't Gwyneth supposed to guest on more than one episode?

The Christmas episode was very good. It was Christmas-y enough, but not too much to be too sappy or over-joyous episodes like these tend to be like.
Though I must say I'm getting increasingly bored every time Lea Michele has a solo. Does she have to have a solo every episode????? And does it always have to be some musical/sad song. YAWN!

Re: "Glee" Thread - Sept 9 as scheduled!
I thought the episode was alright. Usually Ryan Murphy has better Christmas episodes (Popular, Nip/Tuck). I too am sick of Lea Michele. I loved her last season. Thought she was terrific. Now I just can't stand her. It's a shame, but she kind of annoys me now.
Thank you Darren Criss for coming along and being one of the bright spots of this season. It's not that it's a bad season. I've enjoyed it. But Season 1 was better. So sad we have to wait until February now. Not because I'll miss the show so much as I'll miss seeing Darren Criss every week. Interesting how last season when it went on break I was dying because I had to go without the show. Now I could go without if it weren't for Blaine.

Yeah. That performance is probably the most natural one they've done yet...

Re: "Glee" Thread - Sept 9 as scheduled!
Looks like ya'll is indeed experiencing a show by Ryan Murphy (and this also translates to films apparently, I rented Eat Pray Queef and the same happened). He can start a show and really fucking own with an idea, but after some time it just all kind of goes to shit.
Same happened on Nip/Tuck. Flawless first three seasons, and then after that it was never half as good. Still a fine show, and I liked how trashy and desperate they got, but ya. I hurrd the same happened on Popular, and the same def. occurred on Eat Pray Queef, which he wrote/directed. I luved the parts in Italy in the beginning, but after that, omfg no. Dog shit.
Ryan Murphy; it wut he do

I'm taking credit for Glee's ratings spike tonight because I'm in the background.
Good for at least an extra 10 million viewers.

It really was bad, the plot was ... well .. embarrassing. I can get over the girls playing and the other team somehow not scoring every single drive in the first half. I can't get over there being 10 seconds left an the team being in a shotgun formation, as a football fan, that's just so absurd it defies even Glee's zombie chanting reality.

Ummmm, one of the weakest Glee episodes ever? I think so. Boring, uninteresting, they wasted at least 7-8 minutes pushing Kurt and Blaine into the episode when in fact NOTHING in the plot remotely demanded their presence... They blew the perfect opportunity to boost Glee's ratings. I wouldn't be surprised if the show had hefty drops in ratings throughout.

Last night's episode was incredibly lackluster for a post-SB episode. I did enjoy it, though.
And I am just not feeling Sue anymore at all.

This show is so aggravating...it has the potential to be really great, but instead it's a boring caricature most of the time.

LOVED tonight's episode. So much better than the lame post-Super Bowl episode. Now that was a disappointment. They wasted the chance to increase their ratings. Can't really imagine any new viewers sticking around after that.
But they rebounded tonight. Featuring a lot of Darren Criss doesn't hurt.

Re: "Glee" Thread - Sept 9 as scheduled!
Yes, this was a much better episode. I was so happy to see the voiceovers return!
I thought the Puck-Lauren stuff was pretty amusing. And Mark Salling has never sounded better than he did on "Fat Bottomed Girls."
Rachel and "Firework" makes me hopeful we're done with her Finn angst for a little bit. Her big gay sleepover with Kurt and Mercedes was cute.
I loved Santana's (who has quickly climbed the ranks to be possibly my favorite character on the show) form of revenge. "I've had mono so many times it turned into stereo."
Cory Monteith and Dianna Agron are both better actors now than when Finn and Quinn were actually a couple but I'm still not seeing much chemistry. We'll see.
I also enjoyed P.Y.T. even though the intro was super weird. And poor Tina finally gets a solo for the first time in forever and it's not even a real performance.
Oh, Darren Criss. I love you. "When I Get You Alone" was lots of fun (and I was so happy to see he didn't run away when Kurt was truthful with him). Oh and then. "Silly Love Songs." I LOVED THAT.
