[spoil]Beaver. I'm guessing he was the third person on that tape that was edited out and played on the same baseball team. He was probably the one who called the limo, not Dick and planted the bomb the bus so that the other 2 wouldn't talk. He wanted the whole thing covered up. This also explains the issues with Meg.[/spoil] Yes, I've thought the same thing for a while. [spoil]My theory is he and Woody are lovers. The other two went to Shark's Field to threaten Woody, and Woody told Beaver, and Beaver said they wouldn't get off the bus alive. This answers the question of why Peter was on the bus (in I Am God he asked Veronica in his dream why he would even go on the field trip) and how Woody knew to tell Gia to not get on the bus. My other theory is that we have zero clue as to what is going on and it will turn out that Duncan did it. But that's just the part of me that likes to dream.[/spoil]
Actually, I had that theory also.
[spoil]Perhaps Duncan was the one on the team. It is just kind of a crazy guess, with practically no clues, but it would explain how he is being written off the show and in the clip that they showed, Veronica looked very upset at the identity of the killer, which could mean Duncan. Just seems a little out of left field though.[/spoil]

Man, I look at Beaver in the opening credits and the Beaver in the latest episode. He's changed quite a bit in one year.

AWESOME!!! Kristen Bell won a Saturn Award on Tuesday for Veronica Mars!! The winners list is here, for those interested. The show was nominated for Best Network Television Series, but lost to, well, "Lost".
I don't know if the Saturns are really important, but a win is a win!

My final guess is [spoil]Duncan. I really think Beaver, but everyone thinks Beaver, now, so I don't think that can be it. But as long as it's not Aaron, again, I'll be happy.[/spoil]

I think it's... [spoil]Beaver. Idk it's really just gut instinct and he's just been really fishy lately if not him than Logan by some weird connection none of us got.[/spoil]

That's kinda who I think it is. It makes sense -- his storyline has nowhere to go anymore. He won't be going to college next year, and he is no longer a PCHer. It would make sense if they made him the one who set it off, then ship him off to jail or whatever so his character is cut off for next season.

Ha. If it's [spoil]Logan, Rob Thomas will have hell to pay. There are far too many Logan fangirls out there to let that happen.[/spoil]

Oh, I forgot to ask. Did anyone see any of the stuff about the fan efforts to guarantee a third season? They raised enough to hire a plane to fly a banner that says "Renew Veronica Mars! CW 2006!" over Burbank, and sent Hearst care packages to all the big wigs at CW. They also donated 70 dvd sets to libraries across the country.

Interesting bit with Duncan.
I missed last weeks ep bc it was preempted -- did they ever figure out what was up with Duncan's hair being on the statue or whatever? I vaguely remember something about that.
Duncan having Clarence kill Aaron seems a bit suspicious. And they didn't really deal with it at all, so I'm curious what's going to go on next season. Veronica was asked by her dad (i think) how Logan was dealing with it (I think) but that was all.. so it was a bit weird.
Does this mean Teddy Dunn will be back in some capacity?

SQUEEEEEE!!!! So very much squee. That is all.
God I love this show.
Anyway, the lack of a real good cliffie is disappointing, yet relieving. Last summer was unbearable. But the show IS COMING BACK. I refuse to believe anything else.

The suitcase was very Pulp Fiction. But it's not something that I can spend four months obsessing over. I mean, there's an infinite amount of choices, unlike "who's at the door?" when it could be 3, maybe 4, tops.
But speaking of "who's at the door?" I really hope that the dvds have the outtakes when they had a ton of different people at the door. I think Mr. Woo was one of them.

haha.
speaking about the episode in general.
i wasnt surprised at all beaver was behind something.
i was surprised that they told us so soon, it was making me think that there was time and all the flashbacks were wrong.
other things
they did sooo much in one hour, that original episode must have been so much longer
they squeezed a lot in there.
i thought when veronica woke up and was like dad?
that KILLED me. and then i also thought that WHOLEE sequence was another dream but it wasnt
and the point of the first dream was interesting
but i'm still confused to its purpose

I think it was there simply to show that even if Lilly lived, Veronica and Logan would still be together. But it may have just been as an excuse to bring Lilly back.
They left Weevil's story unfinished, so I guess there's now a reason for him to be around next season.
So how will next season look?
The current regulars, with those not coming back (this is spec, I don't know anything for sure) next season crossed off:
Veronica
Wallace
[s]Duncan[/s]
Logan
Weevil
Dick
[s]Beaver[/s]
[s]Jackie[/s]
Keith
Mac may end up in there. Maybe Kendall will end up with a big role, though I doubt it. I'm hoping Lamb will, if he's not dead. Maybe, oh maybe, all my wishes and dreams will come true and George Michael will come aboard as a regular. Or at least a recurring guest. Maeby, too, but I mostly care about George Michael.

Well, i thought the finale was pretty alright overall, but there was a real problem with the pace and build up. There was a problem with the build up in the way that there was none. Things happened and then other things happened and then things of lesser importance followed big reveals and were supposed to be moving or sad but weren't and then it was just kind of over. To be honest, the whole thing felt rather hollow.
It's not that i didn't like it, but it all felt rather rushed and poorly put together. That whole Weevil thing was rather odd, and that was his whole part in the ep. Did anyone else find it amazingly odd that one of the graduating students was being arrested in the middle of the ceremony and no one seemed to even notice? It was like Veronica was the only person who saw it happen. We didn't even get Dick's reaction to Cassidy's suicide and the whole mass-murder thing (my friend says that Cassidy wasn't a mass murderer, but he killed 8 people with the whole bus crash, ran over someone, then blew up a plane with at least 3 people on it. 12 murders=mass). I had a lot of problems with it on a structural level (and that whole "what if" thing seemed amazingly pointless, it didn't add anything and lifted right out).
Mild spoilers for next season-
[spoil]rob thomas has said that they are going with the 3 mystery thing next season, with one mystery being the focus for 7 eps, then another for 7eps, and then another for 8eps. Not exactly that as he said it might be 9, 7, 6 but you get the idea.
Also, rob thomas said that the rapes of hearst will be one of them AND AND AND that he has a storyline in mind for Michael Cera aka George-Michael and would like to get Alia Shawkat as well. WOOOOOOOOOO[/spoil].

The pacing wasn't perfect, though much of this season the pacing was off. But I still felt it was awesome. Topped last year. There was more stuff shoved into this episode than they had to deal with last year. At first I found it odd that she discovered who did it so early in the episode, but it wasn't all that much earlier than last year. I think the reason it felt so early was because instead of spending the whole episode before that looking for the guy, she had been busy graduating and such. The Weevil thing was obviously setting up for next season. The one thing that I really felt was completely unnecessary and just a waste of time, which made the episode seem really cramped, was the Wallace/Jackie stuff. I mean, couldn't they have spent time on showing us how Logan and Veronica got to the point where they could make out in the hall instead of that?
About your spoilers [spoil]YAY!! I seriously hope Michael Cera and Alia Shawkat will sign on.[/spoil]

Amazing finale. Sure, the pacing wasn't perfect, but I was still fully thrilled with it.
So... did anyone catch the key lines between Duncan and Clarence?
Duncan: CW?
Clarence: It's a done deal.
Sounds sneaky to me. I hope it really is a done deal, but I guess we won't know till next Thursday.
