fallon could be decent but i wanted to see jon stewart get it.
I think after all Jon Stewart has gone through to get a successful gig like Daily Show, I don't think he would give it up.
chance to one day take over a show that was hosted by johnny carson its tough to pass up
He'll be too old before he ever gets a shot at the Tonight Show gig. In '09 he'll be 47 when Conan gets the gig, and by the time Conan is done with his run (Figure 15-20 years) he'll be in his mid-60's and most likely retired. That is unless NBC's current plan backfires.

I do think though that he might have a shot for pretty much the same gig, but on ABC or maybe CBS if Letterman decides to call it quits in the near future.
i want conan to succeed but i dont think he has a wide enough appeal.

I don't know. He might not have enough right now, but that's because he's on at 12:35 at night. I actually think Conan is going to have a much easier transition from "Late Night" to "Tonight". Unlike Jay and David, Conan has the perfect blend of humor geared towards adults and towards college students. Now although I think some of the racier stuff (Which isn't really racy, it's just the censors have a stick up their ass on certain things) is going to be cut, like The Masturbating Bear, I still think he'll get the college crowd.
