That demo area is also what The OC targets... so yeah, they picked essentially the deathslot. On Thursdays it was bad, but mostly just Grey's, as CSI was the exact opposite audience with mostly seniors. Now they have twice as much direct competition, with the new night confusion to boot.
Well they chose Wed for then, because Lost is going on hiatus, and when a big show does go on hiatus for a bit, there's a scramble of viewers, who may very well turn to the OC, but likely more CM...

Lost is actually on this week, where OC is attempting the Wednesday slot, and then it goes on hiatus, heh.

Moving The OC to Wednesday on November 15th would be smart, when Lost takes its vacation.

They really do just need to move it to Wednesdays. I mean, come on, I don't care if it's against One Tree Hill, that's obviously less intense competition than going up against the two highest-rated programs currently airing.
And The O.C. aired on Wednesdays in its first season, you'll remember, and used to do pretty well (although that was back when it was water cooler-worthy).

Has The Rich List already been cancelled by FOX after a week?

Nevermind, FOX has pulled both The Rich List and Happy Hour from the schedule. "Pulled" isn't "cancelled", but I'll consider both the same.

The OC will probably manage at the very least 5 mil on Wednesday, and very likely more. And then Fox will be smart to allow House to continue to be on its own, and use AI as a lead in for The OC where it will become huge, again. They can still revive it if they want to.
And then Thursdays at 9 will be the most interesting timeslot of the week. I hope they change it just so I can be amused by watching what three shows with average ratings over 20 mil do up against each other.

You know what they say: Australia is two years behind the rest of the world.
Actually, it's only me that says that.

Yeah but Season 3 is on the shelves right now... So two years ago was the 1st, the hit season.
It appears your down under math is the one that's wrong.

I think you people are retarded, thats what i think.
Season 3 of the OC was released in September 2006, ie this year. And in those two months its managed to be the 2nd biggest selling TV series on DVD this year.
You people need to be nuked.

How many viewers did it get during it's first season?
