the internet's freezing when I try to post or quote a regular reply, so this one is in reponse to Rod's ^^^^
I agree on the whining part of this thread and I know I have contributed to it. But that's not in reference to the KB comment.
I know it's been done before, but the show's history with Quentin and just the way and timing it was done was obvious that that's where the idea came from. Then again, I'm not complaining... I said that's partly what made the episode great!
While I am not as fond of that Community episode as everyone else seems to be... I do agree it was the most original and along with tonight, the best episode of the season.
I agree as well with Rod on Vaugh tonight. He was very perky!
Here's hoping to MUCH better ratings and a better second half-season!

Last nights ep was good and I liked how Syd was indeed scared, and vunerable. Marshall is a dork but a lovable one and he was great here.

i really don't see how this is copying KB. Sure she was put in a coffin ....thats it. What else does it have to do with KB besides her being put underground. And with the whole Eye Thing...the same thing was practically done in Minority Report, and that came out before KB. So you cannot say it was copying. Next weeks episode looks bleh but i'll have to see it.

Given how frequently they all get kidnapped, it's a wonder they don't embed trackind devices under their skin and just leave them there for when they need them.

I didn't watch the actual episode, but the scenes for hte episode shown could have be lifted from KB, I mean, coming off the hells of KB it felt liek such a ripoff, and add to that what yo jsut said about ripping off MR, and the week before was a bad rendition of Le Femme Nikita. Getting ideas from other sources is fine, but if your execuation adds nothing then its just boring. That said I heard this episode was good, I'll have to seek it out on DVD. POT. KETTLE. BLACK.
They didn't invent but see comments to Casey, the ripoff of Le Femme Nikita was more blatant in my opinion. I didn;t see the episode as the scense turned me off, but ll Ihave to ask how is Syd being buried alive suspenseful, we all knwo sh eis not going to die. Put naother character in the coffin, one who we think the show might actually be willing to kill off.

I thought it was a better than average episode but I cracked up at the part where they expected us to believe the professional killers had buried her with her cell phone.

I did see that part, I saw the first 15 minutes of so of the episode, up to the part where marshall was in the bar or whateer and getting the radio and stuff.

Well, I thought I'd inform posters here of what I'm gonna do incase anyone was wondering
I'm going to stop watching ALIAS starting tonight because I have big exams to syudy for this month and will be busy with exams for 2 weeks in May and will be leaving for my senior trip to Armenia on the DAY of the finale.
So I thought might as well cut out the least exciting show on my block of tv shows to watch and catch it all on the DVD, which is significantly better viewing for any show.

I never thought I'd see Jack manipulate his daughter and Sydney lie to his face and trick him.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Though I have enjoyed this season so far (come on its still a better drama than anything out there pretty much, even in its diluted form.) this is the episode I have been waiting for.
Vaugh. FINALLY. I'm actually enjoying his character for once.

Vaughn seems older lately, more grizzled. But it's working to his advantage, making him more appealing.

Wow. I seriously stopped watching one episode too late.
My friend who just joined the ALIAS group this season said it was an amazing episode.

For those who missed it.
Vaughn participated in a raid on a CIA convoy that resulted in Dixon getting shot multiple times in the chest.
Vaughn was partly responsible for the death of an innocent security guard while helping some bad guys who promised him info on his dad.
Vaughn learned his dad was actually dead all along.
There is another old man named Sloane with the same mannerisms, played by Joel Grey, who is an evil mastermind. Identity theft? Brother perhaps?
Marshall took a DNA sample from Jack without telling him and had it analyzed.
Said sample was reported by Sloane to have come back with results saying the person had a genetic mutation and severe exposure to radiation. However Sloane didn't know it was Papa Bristow's DNA when he told Marshall that.
Sydney got possession of an old music box of her mothers that had a code in it that revealed info on Sloane.
Am I forgetting anything?

Joel is a great actor, I believe he's supposed to be Sloane's brother.

Well, I couldn;t take it after 2 weeks.
I actually found and downloaded the 2 episodes I missed when I supposedly stopped watching.
I can't believe how true it was that the exact episode at which I decided to stop watching ALIAS for this season happened to be the episode that would have pleased me all season long. That was the episode I was waiting for. We are back in family-ass kicking, drama-revealing, great action ALIAS.
The third sister (elena) is finally coming into the picture. Sloane has a borther (or so is the rumor from this second Sloane). Can this show possibly grow more in family branches? I don't mind because this is what I want. And yes, Vaughn was finally useful for some entertainment. Jack's storyline is pretty interesting too, they might wait till season finale kicks in to do something about it though. And Katya is finally back.... after a hiatus that went too long unexplained.
I really wonder where they're going and I also wonder which episode it was that they were shooting when they finally got Olin back so we can finally get some clues to how she will return. They're still writing as if she's dead so her return really was a mid-season thing (but I'm sure Abrams had a plan all along incase she caved).
It better get even better from now on.

Hmmm seems like I started watching when everyone else stopped!
Well, the past 2 weeks have been okay, better than the rest of the season and defintely back into ALIAS-style.
So we now have a Elena, the second aunt in the picture. Although it is a promising addition, I think I was a bit let down about the whole Sloane-JAck secret thing, it seemed as if it was something HUGE.
Either way... although I know Jack won't end up dying I think dragging his storyline across more than 2 episoes is a good idea, rather than have it as aone episode stint in which he is saved at the very last second for some reason.
But didn't it seem as though the commercias and ads for the last episode were aimed more towards next week's? This week's had nothing really to do with JAck's disease, I mean it wasn't in the forefront.
And I also have another bit of information... I bought the ALIAS magazine and in it was an episode guide to Season 4, and apparently the episode in which Syd is buried alive and Marshal saved the day was supposed to be later on in the season around episode 15 rather than episode 11 or 12. Just wanted to point that out, maybe it was to gain some viewers as it was a pretty good episode.
Also get ready for another make-over.... apparently Season 5 (starting in September with LOST) is going to be "a fresh start."

well i liked the episode. Alias is definatly getting back to its originality. I just cannot wait for Irina to Come back. That ending did surprise me. Who suspected that Sophia would have been Irina's sister? Well they went to 0 villans to 2 now. Elena and Arvin Clone which i think are both great villans for the time being. If they even have Elena be a villan, hopefully they will not turn it into a sappy thing. I was watching season 1 on DVD the other day and i noticed that Season 4 is filled with less action and more 5 minutes sections of boring sapdrama. Nadia brings nothing to this show. On season 3 she was great but now all she brings is the really boring 5 minutes talks with Sydney or Sloan or Sophia. Lets have her DIE

Wait... Alias is coming back in September? WITH Lost, as in on Wednesday nights? Awesome. I see this as the last (and I mean LAST) ditch effort to make this a hit show. Keep it on relatively at the same time as Lost, including reruns, and make it accessible to all viewers, like this season has attempted! I find it funny now that I think about it that Alias got the mid-season, no reruns treatment this season, the least continuity-dependent season yet.

Seems they completely did away with Sydney's purpose for going to Graduate school during Season 1 and the first half of season 2.
Have they ever mentioned it since?
I think for Season 5 Sydney should leave the CIA. They can then turn this into a Felicity type show where we see how she succeeds with dating, girl talk, etc.
