Post Re: "Glee" Thread - Sept 9 as scheduled!
There is no way an episode directed by Joss Whedon and guest starring Neil Patrick Harris wouldn't be awesome, and Glee didn't disappoint tonight. One of the best so far.

Love NPH playing evil (sort of). And the "Dream On" duet was freaking awesome. Matthew Morrison has probably never been sexier than that number, and NPH was just icing on the cake.

We finally got to see some stuff with the underused Artie and Tina. Artie's storyline was really poignant and touching. Kevin McHale's version of "Dream a Little Dream of Me" (despite being truncated in the episode) is wonderful.

How could you not love the 80s mall dance number set to "Safety Dance"?

And, finally, I think we all knew it was coming that Idina Menzel is Rachel's mom. But I got chills during "I Dreamed a Dream." Stunning duet.

Also, Sue's line about having an upstairs room like Letterman was a gutbuster.

Good episode tonight. I absolutely LOVE Kurt's dad. What a great guy.

Just saw in the papers that all the main kids cast members of Glee just had a American Idol type concert - think they said only 11 shows in 4 cities.

Paper was talking about how they might not sound great off the Hollywood sound stage but the top half sounded great and all sounded good....and paper suggested that it could go into a Broadway type show?????

Very good episode this week. Jesse is such a prick! Will was hot as fuck! He has an ass that don't quit. LOL. Even the thought of him and Sue kissing turned me on; maybe because I wanted to be her :P.

Fantastic finale! Loved every second if it, and a great rebound after the uneven last two episodes.

The Journey medley was (ahem) fabulous. "Faithfully" was gorgeous (although I've always had a soft spot for that song), "Any Way You Want It/Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'" was lots of fun, and the revamped "Don't Stop Believin" was great.

"Bohemian Rhapsody" from Vocal Adrenaline was good and all (mostly because of Jonathan Groff) but that song is so iconic that covers cannot possibly measure up. That said, the sequence of that performance and Quinn's baby being born was extremely well-edited, recalling the "Like a Virgin" number from the Madonna episode.

Speaking of the birth, I liked how it wasn't nearly as sappy as it could've been. And Idina Menzel adopting the baby (and keeping the name Beth) was a nice touch. Although I still feel bad for poor Rachel.

Sue getting smacked down by the other judges was kind of interesting, but as we've been shown a few times before, she has a heart. To be frank, she can't be so mean to the point she becomes a cartoon character, so giving her this balance (like they successfully did for the character of Wilhelmina on Ugly Betty throughout) is necessary.

"To Sir, With Love" was extremely touching. I know it's corny but I love how all of the glee kids got so close over the season! lol

And "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" was a really good note to go out on. Refreshingly subtle and similarly touching.

Can't wait for next season. This is an uneven show but when it's good, it's really good.

I'm gonna get the first season DVD when it comes out and try to get into the show.

But I do hope for you fanz that what happened to Nip/Tuck doesn't happen to Glee. Ryan Murphy tends to sort of have an amazing, brilliant start to his series and then at some point the shit that occurs on it you would not feed to a malnourished dog.

So they started the repeats and I have seen 2 shows. The first and last ones. They really came a long way. Anyway, guess I will buy the CD for a present for a girl I know who likes the show and then I can watch it with her.

I finally got around to watch the season finale. A perfect episode I think. This has to win an Emmy. Jane Lynch too. Writers also. I can't remember last time the characters evolved throughout the season so naturally as here. And I love that basically every character is two dimensional when it needs to be, suiting its purpose here and there, and when the focus shifts to them they have a gazzilion of other sides to show... Brilliant.

I can't wait for the next season.

Javier Bardem is supposedly going to guest star on the new season, as a rock star who befriends Artie.

Britney Spears centric ep seems definite.

It must feature Brittany singing her own shizz.

She'd fit in with a horrible lip-syncing most of the cast is doing.

I meant Brittany the character on Glee. Gimme MOAR seems a nice fit for her. "It's Britney, bitch!"

As if I'd ever spell BritBrit's name as Brittany.

Good premiere tonight. Though if this episode is any indication I'm not so sure I'll care for Rachel anymore. She's becoming too much of a bitch, and her hair sucks this season :P. Loved the "Telephone" showdown in the bathroom. Probably my favorite part. Rachel singing "Kiss The Day Goodbye" wasn't that impressive. Was kind of bored during this. Probably because I just didn't give a damn about Rachel during this episode.

Felt terrible for the new football coach.

Next week's episode looks like a blast.

I wonder when Kurt will get a boyfriend, and who it will be. Isn't it supposed to be a closeted jock? Possibly the new kid?

Oh, I also enjoyed the performance of "Empire State of Mind."

"Kiss the Day Goodbye?" Never heard of it. ;) I do agree with Rachel though, she was a huge cunt in this episode and I didn't care about her at all. I heard Kurt finds him new boy in episode six, so I doubt it's the new kid.

Really good episode. Better than a lot of the first season, IMO. Should be a good season. Next week is going to be awesome.
