A pure soap opera on an island? No, thanks. Parts of it already shine through and it ain't too pretty.

That's a nice analysis. But I don't think her seeing it crash all the down shows why it crashed in the first place.

Vincent the dog must know it all of course. Probably something myserious in the cargo hold where they put doggies. I'm still waiting for his flashback.

Who's taking care of Vincent anyway now that Michael's gone and Shannon's dead?

No not a soap. A show about survival, there's a hundred things they need to do to just stay alive. Sort of an ensemble version of the Hanks movie Castaway. But more elaborate. Anyway, I'm not saying my idea is so good, just that that was what I was expecting when I started watching. The show was originally conceived as a dramatic show along the lines of Survivor, and that was what the hype I read leading up to it said. It has gone in a different direction than I expected and I love some aspects of it and dislike others. The mysteries are cool but I just hope it doesn't flame out like Twin Peaks.

The same people that don't care about Walt, that don't care about Michael, that don't care about shaft, that don't care about others, that don't care about upcoming monsoon season, that don't care about Charlie and baptisms of Aaron, that don't care about Ana-Lucia killing Shannon, that don't care that one person has access to weapons, that don't care about getting the fuck of island.

Vincent is as good as dead. You never know when another frog will piss Sawyer off, and when he'll accidentally shoot the poor dog. Or he'll choke on someone's wedding ring, pearl. Maybe that black horse will beat him heavily.

We can only hope that his death will have more impact on show than Shannon's did. Not a tough task.

:-)

They showed Ana taking care of him in one episode, but he probably just migrates from castaway to castaway looking for food. At least until the writers remember to write him in.

Tomorrow night's episode looks intense, I hope the preview isn't misleading. Still, Locke's flashbacks are always good, and him getting locked in the hatch should be interesting. Not to mention that the Henry Gale storyline should come to a head.

I'm glad there's only two rerun weeks left this year. I heard they were the 12th and the 19th (which is Alias' return). So, after that, 5 straight weeks of Lost. Has that happened at all this year?

the creators cheated and gave them a hatch, essentially offering a lot of things that would allow them to NOT have to fend for things. they got tools, supply of food and stuff like that from there.

Yes other than Ana Lucia that is what I dislike most about this season. It's a real cheat. They are now sitting around on sofas, taking showers and have a record player. It.s b.s. and undermines the premise of the series.

I notice the shows that have had the two backlashes, Lost and Desperate Housewives (and yes I know both are st ill popular, but they've come down a notch from being what everyone is talking about) are the shows where they didn't remain faithful to the premise. On DH, hardly any of them are housewives anymore, and on Lost they have those crutches you mentioned. I still like Lost a lot though and probably always will mainly because I like the cast a lot, it's a great ensemble.

Many things we've noticed they have tried to fix, or explain better, so maybe they will on that too.

but i think they should stop explaining. the show was more fun with the mysteries. now the only mystery left this season is that black smoke fog that shows images. i'm waiting for the season finale where they'll be recapping everything to show us a pattern. i hope its good. because outside of that, if one sits through season 1 and then season 2, you can pretty much consider them to be 2 seperate seasons of survivor with the same cast. everything else is different.

I thought they were going to get rid of the hatch in Hurley's episode this season when he got the dynamite. I still think they should destroy it somehow, maybe when the numbers run out..

the story revolves around locke .. i just checked ..

and the continuation of sayid's journey. there is an unlikely ally which i'm assuing is our new friend. so i guess the flashback is Locke.

What happens when the clock runs out, what's Desmond injecting, who are the Others, who is Henry Gale, what is Dharma's goal, where are Walt and Michael, what happened to Charlie before he got hung from the tree, what's the deal with Claire's baby, what's the sickness, how did Locke get the use of his legs back, what's up with the horse/Jack's dad/polar bear/backwards talking Walt, what's behind the cement in the hatch, how did Sun get pregnant, etc.

Marty, you forgot some of most important mysteries there.

What will be next animal that will piss Sawyer off? How Locke got his job in box factory? Was Kate pregnant as well? How Jack got a haircut? How Charlie got his love to music? Was Ana Lucia fired? Is Bernard a dentist? Which character will next have daddy issues? Who else did Sawyer conned?

Think you'll agree these examples are a bit more important than yours.

We need more examples on how Jack fixes, Kate runs, Sawyers cons, Charlie sucks. More!

Spoiler warning if you haven't watched this episode yet (lock down)

Wow for once I guessed something right last week, regarding Gale. Also, maybe Gale was in this area of our people to pick up the parachute drop of supplies?

marty. read my previous posts.

polar bear, horse, monster ... none of them are season 2. and everything else you mentioned are the explanable manmade ones. maybe i wasn't clear but i'm refering to the sci fi elements that season 1 was littered with, including but not limited to the fact that the island itself felt alive.
