Maybe "him" is Jack's dad? It would fit with the supposed hallucinations, and the fact that the coffin was empty.
Andaroo's theory of the memorys not being real would fit in, the guy who was implanted as Jack's father is "the architect", he created the entire Dharma initiative, and put himself in a number of flashbacks like Jack's obviously and Sawyer's. When Jack saw him on the island early in Season 1, he was really there. Jack isn't the kind of guy that hallucinates easily.
Yeah, I'm pretty much joking. But the actor himself does have that leader and dictator aura surrounding him.

Finally caught up with you guys. 11 episodes in 2-3 days. :=)
And my dissapoining feeling turn to bad feeling after all the episodes. Castaways still keep secrets between each other, lack of communication about some important things and silly doings. Character lack of interest lead me to lose some interest as well.
Series is filling with cliches, predictability and stupid subplots (Sawyer and frog?).
And it's a bit sad that between almost 40 flashbacks, only 3 are directly linked with the island. Also now seeing some familiar face in, lets say Kate's flashback, is not surprising anymore. Instead of thinking will someone else familiar show up in next fb, you now just wonder who it might be.
But hey, atleast we have great acting and characterisation.

I would guess it would be one of these :
Hanso Korean dude Degrot Zeke Gale Arabic speaking American soldier
Good episode this week, but for me the giveaway that the other aren't others was slightly early . . . Also, why was the surgery place abandoned?
Don't think it's Zeke at all. That is, if Zeke is the one that talked with Jack, Sawyer, and Locke. He's the same guy that talked with Ethan, and mentioned 'him'.
I hope it's noone of those actually.

It is lousy.
Like makers of show just wanted to get rid of her for no great reason. Nothing much her death brought, if anything.

Well at least they did kill the most useless character, who really added nothing to the show, except the fact that she was more of a normal character (minus the incest part).

Useless for some I'd say.
And if indeed she's useless, why would writters make the character then at first place? Plus, better to make her more interesting, more 'useful', than to kill her off.

I meant more as useless as a character, there wasn't much more progression for her, and she can't have a lot of flashbacks because she was younger sadly. Her previous job didn't come in to play much, she wasn't that funny, or interesting, which is fault by the writes. She seemed the most normal though, which provided a nice juxtaposition to torturers and criminals.
I have missed Shannon the least out of anybody. I even want Artz back.

Finally saw the last episode. Pretty good one and finally some new twists and some revealing stuff about the island. I feel we are getting somewhere...

I don't recognize him. Remind me (and others) if you don't mind. In spoiler text if necessary?

No, he's not anyone. I would have recognized that guy, as he gave Sayid a great look in the finale that was quite expected at that time.

It almost looks like the guy who threatened Jin in the bathroom before the flight, also in the finale. But if you're saying it looks like Gale - no, doesn't look like it.

[spoil]There's a NY Times article online about the deaths of characters on major shows like Lost and 24, and they say the Lost cast will face more death by the end of this season.[/spoil]

Even though there's an obvious choice for death, I hope that it doesn't happen. Sure, I want the death to happen, but a surprise would be nice.
Maybe I'm expecting too much, after experiencing three significant deaths in two weeks on "24".

More deaths, less flashbacks. Go for it!
Chances are, though, that it'll be another useless death.

I actually don't want more deaths on LOST this season.
they say people must keep dying to keep up the realism or something along those lines, but none of the deaths are really from the "island" or even remotely "real" I mean, what is "real" on this show
The absence of Michael, I think, is great. They don't kill him off but it's a good excuse to have him off the show for a while. they should do that more often than try to cram alot fo storylines and just keep resorting to death to stir things up.

From a dramatic arc point of view the most likely candidate would be Charlie.
But the crowd pleaser choice of course is A. L.

Maybe they should try some more natural deaths. Falling from an already crashed plane, being shot by your own castmate, and blowing up from dynamite aren't very natural death causes. The Marshall was the only acceptable death. I wonder if the "sickness" will catch anyone.

It seems the island really isn't responsible for any of the deaths. The stranded castaways are!
Clue?

Clue?
Didn't the island, or at least the monster, kill the pilot?

No, they kill characters to keep the audience off guard, so they never feel that anyone is safe.
