I believe that Kim is as common a name in Korea as Smith is in the U.S.

To those that have the DVD set of the first season....are you generally happy with it? And is the commentary just for the first few episodes or do most episodes have commentary?

There is commentaries on "Pilot, Part 1", "Pilot, Part 2", "Walkabout", "The Moth", "Hearts and Minds". I think that's it.

I am pretty happy with the DVDs. I watched them in a one week span then had to catch up on Season 2... personally, I really don't think there is that much a difference between Season 1 and 2.

The "features" aren't great, but most shows have sucky features.

The special features are great, but I would have been far happier with more commentary. At least one commentary per cast member per their character-driven episode (Example: Evangeline Lilly and writers, etc., doing commentary on Tabula Rasa; Daniel Dae Kim and Yunjin Kim, plus writers, do commentary for "... in Translation"). I hope they do that for Season 2.

Thanks for the replies. I was sort of wondering if they had replay value or if you guys generally watched them once and that was it. I get the sense it was just once but you are still happy with it, most of you. Cool, I think I'll finally pick it up even though I've seen them all.

There are certain disks I watch more than others. I have watched the Pilot episodes, Sawyer's episodes and everything from Numbers on repeatedly.

Well, I had watched the entire first season when it gave. And I rarely watch the entire season again, for any show, when I buy it on DVD. For me, it's more memorabilia than viewing pleasure.

But when I did buy it, I watched the pilot a couple of times. I've watched the 3 part, or 2 part finale a couple times as well.

And usually I have an urge to watch an old episode or go back and see if I missed anything and it's great to satisfy that emergency craving ;)

Like, the other week... I had a sudden urge to watch all the Kate episodes and one by one, over like 2-3 days I watched them. It was great and I noticed alot of stuff I had either never realized or forgotten about.

yeah I love that... my brother was watching the pilot the other day and I noticed a load of sneaky things I hadn't noticed before.

Dont know if you guys discussed this already but supposedly Michelle Rodriguez isnt just an angry annoying bitch onscreen, she's also an angry annoying bitch offscreen. Look for her character getting written off sooner or later.

Is that some sort of fact, or speculation?

Thats the rumor going around, people on the set are tired of her, they're thinking of cutting her out.

I don't like it. I'd rather they stick with their original plans. It was obvious that they were cooking something with her character from way before even casting her. I don't want them to shift the show. Then again, if she herself is hard to work with and with a cast this large, it could pose problems.

Does anyone even like the character? Anyone?

I get the feeling no one would cry if Ana Lucia were to, say, get digested by RoboMonster. Except Michelle Rodriguez.

They shifted the show many times already though, including in the beginning where they cut out a planned flirtation subplot with Sayid and Kate and later where they added Desmond who they said they had no plan to add till they wrote the second season. I think she was just added for demographics reasons and because Abrams has an obsession with tough violent women characters and they can get by easily without her. Having said all that, I am skeptical that she'll go, sounds too good to be true.

that would be a blessing. not only will she be gone but if they bring in the robo monster like that, its absence this season will be forgiven.

Last night I got a phone and missed Hurley talking to the French woman about the numbers?

What did she say to him > cause he was calm and in a good mood after seeing her and meeting the group.

But that didn't last long as he was back to be wary of the numbers at the hatch episode.

Am I the only one who likes her character? I actually think they can develop her into one of the better characters.
The scene with her and Sayid leading up to her finally letting him go was one of my favorites this season.

It's got to be for Rosseau or the cord on the beach.

Or for the brief mention of the radio tower.

You guys think we'll have another Hurley episode by the end of the season?
We had one pretty early this season and we've had enough Hurley filler, so I'm guessing next one would be quite an important episode that would deal with the numbers and perhaps Rousseau/Desmond.

I wonder what the finale is going to build up to. You guys think it's just the "army" thing JAck inquired about?
