 Drive (Fox)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0770521/
Drama about illegal cross-country road race.
From Tim Minear, the producer of the following:
Wonderfalls
The Inside
Standoff
Firefly
Angel
and Greg Yaitanes (Prison Break, House, Bones)
Cast:
Nathan Fillion (Firefly, Slither)
Kristin Lehman (Killer Instinct)
Brian Bloom (Smokin' Aces)
Taryn Manning (Hustle and Flow, 8 Mile)
Melanie Lynskey (Two and a Half Men, Flags of Our Fathers)
I think it looks interesting and I'll definitely give it a shot when it airs in a still unspecified day in March.

Love Minear and Fillion. I've got high hopes for its quality, but not necessarily for its staying power.

This show looks good. It premieres with a 2-night/3-hour premiere beginning Sunday, April 15 from 8:00PM-10:00PM then the show moves to its regular time slot of Mondays from 8:00PM-9:00PM beginning Monday, April 16.

Hmm, that's odd. I swear I saw a promo that said March.

Tim Minear hardly screams "hit-maker". Not to say his shows are bad, but they sure don't last long.
I may be avoiding it. I hate getting invested in something that ends up canceled. And the future already looks dim.

Yeah, The Inside was a good show yet it didn't last more than five or six episodes. Ditto for Wonderfalls. Also, it's rare that midseason shows like this make much of a mark before being canned.

It premieres tonight in Canada. I have nothing to watch 8:00-9:00 on Mondays, so if it's good and has the ratings to survive, I could see myself watching it week to week.

I've decided not to get involved anymore with shows that don't look like anything major will be resolved until several seasons later.
And if this a one race every year thing, then that seems kind of lame. Double edged sword!

This sounds like it can be good. However like all shows these days - will it last long enough. The answer is "no".

So, the show is essentially, Fox trying its best to create its own Lost/Heroes. That is not a surprise. What is, is the fact that it succeeds... big time.
The pilot is every bit as good as those two's, and I can safely say this is one of the best premieres I've seen in quite some time. Layer by layer unveiling of characters, big time mystery and shroud of what is going on, great cast, great writing, thrilling sequences, it is dynamic.
The second episode is a bit lesser than the first, though still excellent. There's a few flaws in the show of course, such as Fox's typical annoying editing and a terrible credit sequence, and as expected there are characters less interesting than others, though like most good shows, they are able to be passed over.
Oh and by the way, I could see this becoming a big hit, if enough tune into the premeire to give it a shot. It really is Fox's answer to the Lost/Heroes-esque fanbase boom, and it has the ingredients... It's entertaining, it has likable characters, it has hook, it should be a general audience pleaser. I only wish they had premeired it after Idol to really start it off with a bang.
I strongly encourage most of the people here to at least check out the pilot episode.

I caught most of it last night, too. Unfortunately, I missed the first 15 minutes, but I generally got what the show is.
And the show is damn good. Surprisingly good. I'm very curious as to how it can last a long time, though. But, I said the same about Lost and 24. And despite some slumps in quality, they've both been really great.

CTV has a full schedule on Sunday, so they premeired last night.

This should've been a great series, it's like Twisted Metal meets Saw in a sense.... too bad it wont be as interesting as either series.

I like the idea and Fillion is a decent leading man but it looked slapped together and trashy. I might watch another episode later on to see if it improves.

I agree it looked oddly trashy, especially when compared to something as polished as Heroes, but I still found it fairly entertaining.
My biggest problem with it at the moment is that I'm only interested in, like, four characters. If it's not Fillion, Lynskey or those two brothers on screen, I don't wanna know.

Really? What were it's ratings? You have a source?
Tim Minear just can't seem to catch a break...

Overnight ratings were like 3.8/6, which would likely indicate about 6 million viewers.
