if you want to debate in PM it's fine with me, but that's just my opinion be it the person who commits suicide a celebrity or not. I have no problems hearing opposite opinions and don't worry, I won't resort to name calling or similar stuff.

Wow. Just wow. This is truely the most shocking hollywood death of my generation.

Stay away from sleeping pills people, i have always been afraid of them.

This is one of the most random deaths I've ever heard, especially the fact that it's death was cause by medication.

Anyway, my sister had a crush on him after seeing him in Patriot, in fact, she saw Knight's Tale only because of him. She is very sad that he died. Anyway, RIP, and best of luck to Michelle and Matilda.

How bout we wait and see if it was a suicide before we start bashing him ok?

Rest in peace, boy is this dissappointing. Young with a little child about to become a worldwide star. Now he will be a legend after the world sees his final performance.

I'm still in shock... It hasn't really sunk it yet at all. He doesn't feel dead. I can't believe this. It still hasn't hit me.

By far the most shocking death I've come across, this blows Benoit and Chris Farley out of the water. He was truly on the verge of establishing himself as a great actor, with Brokeback, Dark Knight, and a small role in I'm Not There last year that was really solid.

I've seen a lot of shocking death news before (John Ritter and Chris Benoit probably the most shocking, although Benoit's just kept getting more shocking as the news came out), but this one ranks high up there.

When I saw the thread, I really was excited for another four star Loyal thread because it had four pages. Did not expect that he actually died. Really, really too bad.

i ... don't know why i'm soo down. i hear about people dying all the time, people i know or celebs but for some odd reason, i haven't been hit this way since a classmate of mine died a few years ago.

maybe it was the fact that hes 28. and i'm 26. and he was doing well, looked great .. had things going and it just came to a halt so suddenly. makes you think how tomorrow, no one really knows whats going to happen.

i'm ..... just down right now.

Also, I think it's partly because of his demeanor. He seemed like a very quiet, reserved guy.

This is definitely one of the saddest death for me. The only death that tops it is my grandpa's. He had so much potential and has proven to be such a wonderful actor so far. Plus the fact that he has a two-year-old daughter who will never remember her father.

We can't really know what he was going through, so its unfair to even speculate. What we see of Hollywood is not really what Hollywood is.

Someone listen to one of his interviews for I'm Not There. He was talking about now that he has given a life (his child) he was no longer worried about death. Pretty freaky shit.

I dont think its suicide; I recall a woute from a few weeks ago bout how the Joker had him unable to sleep. He was found with over the counter sleeping medication around him. Accidental overdose.

I was at a dinner tonight and when i was leaving someone announced it and silence befell the entire room. It was crazy. I could never have thought he would die.

Alleged drug overdose? I think i knew Ledger was a drug user, I could tell from his interviews. I guessed at the time that it was a big part of the reason he split up with his wife. But i never thought he was this serious. It's so tragic, his career was finally taking off. Its unfortunate that fame brings such desperate unhappiness.

I hope this tragic death can alarm the world into doing something about other potential celebrity tragedies, Britney Spears clearly being one of them.
