I think the phone call in which Trump told Georgia election officials to "find the votes" he needed to win the state and to reverse the certified results was more damning evidence that Trump directly interfered with the election process and abused his presidential power to pressure state election officials. It was a very bad look for a democracy when a contestant in an election could attempt to overturn an election result like this and faced no consequences.
Are they going to spend as much time rehashing the 2020 election they won as the 2016 one they lost?
Can they still impeach him a 3rd time for the Georgia phone call?

You meant to say Trump kept rehashing the lies about 2016 and 2020 after election results were certified? Yeah, Hillary Clinton conceded the day after the election in 2016. Trump never conceded in 2020 and kept telling multiple lies about 2016 and 2020 including that 3 million people illegally voted in California in 2016.
I believe the state of Georgia should do something about Trump pressuring state officials to tamper with election results.

If a Republican president does something then it is not a crime.
Nixon would be so jealous. If he was born just a little bit later then he absolutely would have gotten away with the Watergate Scandal. Today’s Republicans have zero moral integrity and would never convict one of their own for literally anything.

Yes, like Obamagate, where Obama got away with spying on Trump, but since Obama was no longer president they didn’t bother to impeach him for it.

The House and Senate were both very Democrat in 1974 so Nixon would have been screwed had an impeachment started. If the GOP held both chambers in 1974, I don’t think he would have resigned

When Flava’d said “zero moral integrity” he was also talking about you, sweetie.

On the flip side, the seven (?) Pubs that did have the nerve to vote against him definitely committed career suicide. They will be primaryed out during the next cycle and replaced with more people who believe in jewish space lasers.

Murkowski will be fine. She was successfully primaried back in 2010 by the Tea Party, but still won the general as a write-in candidate. Her relationship with Alaskans isn't going to be damaged from butt-hurt Republicans trying to primary her again.
Collins will be fine. She fairly easily won just last year in what was considered a likely pick up (or toss-up at worst) for the Dems. She's annoying with her "I have concerns" behavior for everything, but gotta give her credit in winning elections. She knows Maine. Even if she would get primaried, she'd probably win as a write-in candidate in the general.
I also feel that Romney will be pretty safe. Utah is a reliably red state, yes, has been for like 50 years or more, but it's unique thanks to its Mormon population. And 35% of the states registered voters are unaffiliated. Trump isn't particularly liked in Utah, and as such, is one of the worst performing Republican candidates ever in the state (all the way back to Nixon!). Where as the total opposite is true for Romney who is the best performing Republican in the state (margins greater than/equal to Reagan).
Toomey isn't running for reelection, so... Not too sure on the other three, but I have doubts they would have voted to convict Trump if they had any real concerns of losing their seats.
But hey, I'm all for the crazy-wing of the GOP trying to primary any of these guys. Let them put their time and resources into likely failed attempts, dividing their own party more, thus weakening their positions in the House and Senate in 2022.
“Gods are great ... but the heart is greater. For it is from our hearts they come, and to our hearts they shall return.” “We were like gods at the dawning of the world, & our joy was so bright we could see nothing else but the other.” “There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man.” “You have to pretend you get an endgame. You have to carry on like you will; otherwise, you can't carry on at all.” "Paper is dead without words / Ink idle without a poem / All the world dead without stories."
I can't recall a time when one party is so intent on dividing themselves. Keep it up, guys!
100% not defending McConnell, but he'll be remembered as the most effective Senate Majority Leader ever. While Trump will be remembered as a one-term President that lost the popular vote twice, became the first President to be impeached twice, lost both the House and Senate in a single-term, and so, so much more. The stain he left on the Republican Party isn't coming out anytime soon (hell, he might end being the reason the party dissolves).

Ted Cruz has left Texas to go take a vacation in Mexico. There’s the mark of a man who knows he won’t lose a single supporter for any action he takes. “I didn’t abandon our state during our literal darkest hour (cause there’s no lights.) It was AntiFa that took that vacation to Cancun!!”

Chris Christie all over again. He hasn't blame Antifa yet (might have blamed AOC though) into making him book a flight that was scheduled to return on Saturday (first day temps will be back above freezing for most of the state); he blamed his daughter for wanting to spend time with her friends. Because flying to Cancun is a normal get together with friends, of course.

Why is Ted Cruz a terrible person for leaving the state when he is not responsible for the weather or power grids?
Certainly not any worse than Democrat politicians breaking their own business closure, social distancing and travel restrictions.
I mean, Beto O'Rourke and his team of volunteers have made over 150,000 wellness calls to seniors in Texas.
Ted Cruz went on vacation and flew to Mexico in the middle of a crisis specific to his state.
One of these men is an elected Senator from Texas and the other is not. There is a lot Ted Cruz could do if he really cared about his constituents, even if he's just overseeing his staff while they make efforts to help remotely.
There's also the fact that it's just stupid and bad optics and he should've known better.
Democratic politicians should also not be breaking their own restrictions, needless to say.
