 A question about thread closings?
I am curious why Torrino closed my thread.
- It went alittle off course with the fat talk but it was nothing close to over the line. And if people want to discuss that issue which is involved in the film - SO BE IT.
PUNISH THE PEOPLE - NOT THE THREAD.
WHEN
- the transformer thread had people CURSING at each other.
- When there are threads dedicted to Jennifer Garner looking like a MALE.
*************
I could go on but I think the point is crystal clear.

There was nothing wrong with the thread itself goldie, but the talk got out of hand, it was deemed innapropprite by a mod, and seen as non improving so it was closed.
Sorry it had to go that route but I have full faith in Torrinos ability to discern the direction of the thread and its overall effect on the health of the forums.

Not to stick my nose in someone else's business, especially those who run this site and moderate it, but if a thread goes off-topic, I think it's just as effective to either delete the most off-topic posts or simply warn people not to go off-topic. If it persists, give them a warning. If it becomes a huge problem, after a warning about staying on-topic in the thread itself, then maybe close it. Maybe that's what happened, I don't know at all, I'm just trying to help out so good threads don't get closed for no reason other than other people ruining it.
Edit: And no, I shouldn't be talking about this, seeing as how I've done my fair share of talking off-topic, but I don't usually intend to, and if someone told me not to, I wouldn't do it.

What was so bad about the thread. We were talking about one of the girls from the movie. Who is gross.

It was offensive to many, including myself and other moderators.

So people shouldn't be allowed to call Paris Hilton a whore because it might offend someone? I just think that people shouldn't be so sensitive about people they have no relation to.

Duely noted and thanks for the opinion.

Just curious - is it offensive to say Jennifer Garner looks like a man.
There are lots of threads / comments like that.

Completely different situation. Does Paris Hilton post here? No. Do overweight people post here? Most definitely.

I was the first person who started saying stuff about her. I didn't even talk about her weight I just talked about her looks. She is not attractive at all. Plus, what about when people make fun of I dunno Michael Moore or someone like that because of weight.

I didn't say you were making fun of her weight, BTTF.
Guys, we are currently working on all of these issues behind closed doors right now. Hopefully some kind of resolution will be in place eventually. Please trust us on this.
