 I just wanted to ask...
The orange asterix that marks "new post"...for some reason it doesn't go away anymore even when I read the thread in which the post was made. In other words, it stays on, even if there was no new post after I have checked out the thread... How come?

The Back Button can mess it up, maybe you click that to exit the thread?

I know that with the Back Button, but that's not it. It doesn't even disappear when I leave the site and get back later. Only if I log out and log back in.

Perhaps if you opened it in another window, and with 'main' one went to different thread...

Your browser is probably cahing the web [page and loading the page from cache, so when you view a thread it just loads the old images, try emptying your cache/temproary internet files after lciking on a thread and then hitting refersh

How do I do that? (Yes, I know nothing about computers actually )
By the way, this only happens to me in certain forums here, not all of them. In the Games forum it's normal, for instance.

ripper is right.
it happens from one of the PCs i use as well. It has to do with the cache. Sometimes it works fine, and then sometimes, it doesn't work at all till i open a new browser.

A small rodent.
Not really; its an area on your computer that your browser stores pages for quick reference and sometimes that can be problematic if it dosent clear out and update the pages.
Most ISPs cache some sites too and that can be an even more major problem - especially with DNS servers.
