Seriously, if people can't disagree in this forum, they can't disagree in The Water Cooler...wtf. It was specifically stated that this forum was a board for us to discuss issues we had, Excel's thread was perfectly reasonable. There were no personal attacks, no flaming, nothing, and yet, just like about 10 other threads here it gets locked?

Seriously. What the fuck.

well wait, I though Arsi was the smartest person on the forum for locking the other thread last night.

THERE'S NO PLEASING EVERYONE. :disgust:

I never said that.

You want to foster discussion to let it foster and rather than just lock the thread maybe stop the discussion if it is going the wrong way.

Sigh.

but there is no discussion to be had in that thread. excel asked the mods to take action against a member here and i think i replied letting him know that his concern about the issue is already a subject of discussion amongst the mods and admins and that some action is 'hopefully' forthcoming (unless some performs another cock block).

nothing he said has been dismissed so i don't really see why the thread needs to remain open.

I wish they would lock more threads. Like, every thread that isn't about movies. Lock the entire water cooler, and most of the forums below it. In fact, move the DVD threads into the Cinemania and lock everything but Cinemania and Everyone's a Critic. That's what we really need.

word

in response to my locked thread...

My issue Excel is the use of words like "the board will keep going downhill" and "established posters will keep leaving."

Don't state your opinion as fact. Because the fact is the boards are as busy as they've ever been and its not even Summer. And there hasn't been some mass exodus of "established" posters. In fact, the opposite is true.

You don't like getluv, we get it. Others may not either, we get it. There's a list Excel, a very long list, of posters that aren't liked at WoKJ. Should we just ban all of them.

The boards will down hill; your either blind or just not really into them if you aint noticed. Eagle noticed it and agreed that posters get along a lot worse now for some reaosn than before; open your eyes and youll see tyhat getluv is at the center of literally just about every conflict. These are not opinions, its the way it is. Ignoring it isnt gonna solve anything. The fact that baba said it noted and being looked at and locked the thread, than you unlocked and defended him, only to have baba relock, tells me you probably are not on the same paghe or even in the decision thats being made over her.

w/e, i guess that cool; the list of complaints, site leavers, and supporters of his banning will only grow as long as he stays.

I didn't unlock it Excel, Arsi did.

Stop talking about things you have no idea about.

I think you all need to chill and let people fight if they want to. If a thread is started and it's just one big fight, the sensitive girly boys should just stay out of the thread if it's upsetting. That is a very simple solution for anybody who is bothered to NOT be bothered anymore!

Maybe you guys should create a forum for fighting, like has been suggested before, and anybody who fights or says anything insulting outside of that forum gets a ban. Fighting is never going to stop, so why not try something that has never been tried for once? The whining babies who can't handle any kind of distress can stay the hell out. Everybody will be happy!

The locking of threads (which I think this thread should stay on topic about and little else) is a noticable problem I think. Some threads that contain some of the worse fights stay open far longer than a thread like this. There's a lot of inconsistency when it comes to locking threads. I mentioned this months ago. But if there is some signs of a thread the admins use to determine whether it should be locked or not (besides their personal opinions) it's not made clear to people and leads to more complaining.

It could even be a private forum that you only gain access to by request. You'd find out how many of the crybabies that run to the mods whenever there's an argument, are big hypocrites, that's for sure, because the access list would tell you all you wanted to know about who loves drama here! :funny:

I agree, promoting fighting like that will only create more conflicts and cause members to leave. If a certain group of people keep on fighting despite warnigs/temporary bans they should be IP banned permanently. Other forums are peaceful and have no need to resort to those kind of solutions. KJ should be no different.

I think that's a very naive comment, and I'm sure bABA and Eagle know it's not as easy as you claim. There are ways around IP bannings.

I've never been to a peaceful forum. If you have, and can't handle any other way, I would suggest that you hang out there. Sounds quite wonderful and fulfilling!

Yes actually it is. And outside of the Water Cooler and The Site, KJ is also a peaceful forum. But of course you won't be here soon to appreciate it.
