I'm all for freedom, second chances, etc. but Mav went out of line today. It's one thing to insult someone on the basis of what they've done, but it's another to insult them using broad, nasty generalizations that offend entire "cliques" on this website.

We've delt with him long enough, and it's obvious that an attitude adjustment isn't going to come in a week. A year is more like it.

My comments to Zack were in reference to another confrontation I had with him when he got upset because I didn't want James Bond to have a gay scene. I was labeled a gay basher. That's all he sees me as, so that's what I figured I'd give him.

- I like this forum to be lax when it comes to the rules, especially when considering long time members.
- Flame wars happen, fact of life.
- I am more like to ban a member who I feel continuously instigates, unprovoked, than a member who argues or stirs up shit on occasion but for the most part posts on topic.

TWO
- I feel Zing, Torri and many others have it out for Mav. They don't like him, and they make it known whenever he posts.
- I feel these same posters have in the past instigated Mav into a multitude of fights.
- I wish these same posters would go the way of a Tony Montana and just ignore Mav, forget he exists and keep his name out of your posts.
- I feel the above is simply wishful thinking.

THREE
- I think Mav has come back simply to 'martyr' himself.
- I think Mav is instigating fights throughout threads.
- I think it's sad how Mav finds any and all mentions of himself by any member and responds with hostility toward said posts.
- I think that since his hiatus, Mav has shown an inability to post on topic, instead deciding to fight.
- I think Mav negatively effects the health of the forum.
- I think Mav has a lot of friends on the forum, and would hate to take away the ability for him to talk to these friends.
- I think Mav has been a valuable member of this site for quite a while, and has only recently degenerated into a menace.



Maybe a partial ban is in order. Since neither party seems able to quit this idiotic back and forth bickering, maybe taking away Mav's ability to post, but allowing him the ability to PM would be a viable option. Something to consider.

Also, Mav, you made it known earlier that you no longer wanted to be part of this forum. I am asking you now, does this still stand? Do you not want to be here, or do you want to be a member of these forums?

If you want to be a member, then I am willing to give you the opportunity to do so, assuming of course that you can do so while adhering to our rules.

Don't ban him. That's a slippery slope that I know would likely lead to a call for banning me as I'm about the second least-liked person around here other than Mav it seems. If not, I'd be anxious to hear it.

I don't ever want to ban a user, and even if a banning for mav did come about, I imagine it would be of the one month variety.

As I said above, Mav has friends here, and I don't want to be responsible for cutting off an easy means of contact with those people. That said, no poster, even long standing members, are above the rules of the site. I could post a multitude of posts in which Mav is in violation of our rules. Such a blatent disregard for the rules, and his past comments regarding the fact that he didn't want to be a member of this site, lead me to believe it might be in the best interest of the forum to take away his ability to post.

I know it may be just me, but it may be possible that he said such things without really meaning them. I know I've done it.
