Hello guys,

I'm not sure how many of you remember me from Boxofficemojo, but I know that Maverikk, Baumer, RAWSAW, Moviedude and others will never forget me. I used to have very long and elaborate, vicious arguments with both Maverikk and Baumer (and others), which frequently led to the entire website turning against me, and me virtually left alone to counter several different members...

In the end I kept getting banned. I believe I got banned at least 10 times, and IP banned a few times as well (I kept changing computers)...

Anyway, to cut a long story short, eventually I stopped giving a fuck about Boxofficemojo and left for about a year or so...Then, i stumbled upon this website...

Now, I have obviously missed a lot. But the last time I was banned on BOM, i was personally abusing Sean Saulsbury and his bitch Scott Holleran ( I really can't stand either of them....)...

What I want to know is, particularly from Baumer and/or Maverikk or somebody else who remembers me as these aliases: Emperor, Antichrist, Overlord etc :

What the hell happened? How did this site come to be? Can somebody who remembers me explain to me how AFTER i got permanently banned from Boxofficemojo, how this website and its community was formed? I obviously missed a lot...Can somebody inform me please, in DETAIL? How did you, baumer for example or maverikk join this website? What happened with you lot on BOM?

Id really appreciate it if I could be enlightened by somebody who remembers me...

I remember you, barely. I think you stopped posting right as I started to post, so we never really enteracted. Basically, Sean was being a bitch, so we decided to stop putting up with it, and now we're forced to endure Krem's bitchiness. It's a lose-lose situation, but at least here on KJ we get free cookies.

I remember you just fine, and not necessarily in a negative light. You have wonderful dark humor, which I appreciate to this day.

A good brief summary of what happened. RAWSAW can explain more, given he designed the rules (for peaceful purposes) that Sean later used to oppress.

I think I like you a whole lot more then I used to, but then again I'm a different person (not in that sense assholes ) now. Hope you'll gimme a second chance. That said, I think there's gotta be some thread somewhere where someone laid out the whole long history of the community and it's exile.

Well, I wont go into all the details because honestly I don't remember them all. I'll give you the short version. Leading up to the fall of 2004, Sean decided that the rules were to be followed to a 'T'. I and some other Mods were more lenient on this but Sean would do his own house cleaning, deleting posts, threads, etc. He was banning peoples accounts left and right for small, medium, and large infractions. In some cases justified but in others not. He really wasn't giving anyone answers or at least answers they wanted. Many member moved to a site called Daily Smile (I think) but chose to bitch about Mojo instead of just starting over building a new community. It didn't work so back to BOM they came. I think most knew it was time for a real change. They reorganized shortly thereafter to come to this site. As you're probably noticing KJ is much more member driven. Mojo took a real hit to its forum, the ripples still seem to be in the water as the community there never has been the same. It was a real ghost town for months.

As for KJ itself being created and why everyone picked it, I'm not sure you'd have to ask Eagle. I will say that what growth KJ has experienced has much to do with the members that left Mojo.

no one liked the management over at bom because everyone kept getting banned. about the same time, eagle was spamming BOM for movie reviewers for his personal site. he got nothing really, but the link had been posted and that was all it took for a few people to make the transition to these forums. everyone else followed them cuz they were so cool.

No, and it's a load of crap that people insist on bringing up this story every other month, as if it were some epic movement. Kypade summed it up best. I really wish a brief, kypadeesque answer could just be stickied, if only to spare some from drawing Biblical allusions and making it out to be some spectacle. Seeing it over and over is quite repetitive and silly.

Cliffs: World of KJ existed before the BOM implosion. I believe what happened was some of the admins we're going nuts over at BOM. Alot of the 'regulars' slowly left BOM to come to worldofkj. Then something happened where someone went apeshiznit and deleted a whole bunch of content on BOM out of anger and spite? Who knew. Alot ofpeople we're pissed at him, at BOM, and many came to worldofkj.
