Goldie is no longer welcome here
1. The administrators’ most important responsibility is monitoring the health of the forum. If the administrators feel that someone or something is having a negative effect on the forum, they will address the issue and will rectify it. They will employ the use of the moderators and will also ask the forum members for assistance and cooperation.
Goldie's behavior on the forum has been disruptive for quite some time now. At this point, the forum is better off without him than with him.

Whoa, that was... sudden.
I'm not complaining with the decision though. He just kept pushing it over and over again, never stopping even after all the warnings. It was deserved and a long time coming.

So, is he banned, or is this some sort of final warning?
In any case, I always miss those posts of his.

His account is deactivated; he can no longer post from it.

I'll say the same thing I said in the private horror panel forum: Goldie's a guy? Damn, you learn something every day.

Not for any particular thing, but for overall ruining the atmosphere on the forum with his constant negativism and putting other users down.

Those events suck anyway.
I'm a bit iffy with this punishment as it's a bit too subjective. He's not broken any strict rules of forums, has he?

He has in the past, but it wasn't a specific rule break that brought about this banning. It was the fact that he does not know how to act properly on a forum.

Meh.
I certainly can see that he was not much good for the forum, so in that I understand not wanting him around.
On the other hand, if he would learn how to type normally and format thread titles and the like with any coherancy I doubt I would know him from his avatar (and wouldn't care whether he was here or not.) (maybe that's a good thing, though?)

i completely suppor tthe decision. when the rules were rewritten almost a year ago, the admin clause was put in for this exact reason. goldie has made it a point to come in and ruin everything someone has tried to do. some people put in lots of effort in keeping events on the forum going or organizing things outside and goldie constantly comes and just ruins them. that effects forum health and i personally don't feel any power on the part of the admins was abused.

But Krem, you're talking about same forum where people were called assholes, cunts, cocksuckers, morons, idiots, fucktards,....a bit more people don't follow some forum "etiquette".
It just seems to me that he was banned for being an annoyance to great number of people. And if that's the reason, so be it, I just don't like it.
High chances I'm wrong though. :-)

general annoyances would be the way he makes his threads and such. this is just a whole lot more. he complains in everyone else's threads, hijacks all events. thats beyond just being an annoyance to a few members.

He has always, to me, seemed open to change. He is someone who wants to talk about movies, and someone that I feel contributes to the forum.
Yes he has negative aspects, but as an Admin, I think it is your job to do everything you can to keep the positive aspects and remove the negative, rather than simply take the easy way out and push the issue away. This seems to me the easy way out.
I just think Krem should have detailed the negative aspects that Goldie brought to the forum. Tell him these aspects, and show him an example of it. Tell him that it is not allowed. Tell him it is just not allowed for him. Agree that it is unfair. But tell him that this is how he will exist on the forum if he wishes to stay.
Then you have something. You have thus altered his rules, you can now ban him with reason if he breaks this new set of rules. This was never done, I would be shocked if Goldie had any warning of this banning at all. That is unfair.
I don't care what he has done in the past, he deserves the right to post here. It is the admins responsibility to give him that chance, and to do the work it takes to alter the rules for him alone, thus providing a reason for his future banning.
I am a bit dissapointed.
Then again, Goldie has almost always been nice to you (without a doubt because of your position at the site), trying to get on your good side. Oh, I do remember when he put bABA on his "bad admin" and you on his "good admin" list. It is logical that he seemed all fine to you. However, put yourself in Zing's position or especially mine and things would look different. And I've got to deal with them for almost three years now or so. You speak of unfair? Unfair was that Goldie could do what he desires. Certainly he was smart enough to mask his hijack attempts and his harassing with "criticism" and with "no obviously offensive remarks", but I swear, man, I swear, my respect for this site and its owners was the only thing that prevented me on going rampage on his through the boards with a full-blown flamne war several times and I am sure several people here know that all too well. I am sure no one here feels it to the same extent as me, but many feel similar. I have been asked by someone a while ago why no one can "handle this Goldie issue finally". I have read similar stuff from many, many posters. He was nice in your presence because he knew you had the power and the influence. To many others, he was different. Now I am participating in this whole horror movies thing. You think I have any desire to read his comments on it on daily basis knowing that he only set out to criticize and harrass without any real point? Most of the time I just feel "Screw it and bash the heck out of him", but that would ruin the event even moreso, so I don't. But my patience should not be tested over such long periods of time. I was sick of him. Many others were. I understand why you were not, but that is beside the point.

Smart move, Krem, long overdue. I like this change from the way the site was adminned 9 months ago when it often seemed like violators were given special protection and the people behaving well were admonished.
To Nebs and Lecter, I don't think most of the missing posts were deleted, it seems to be the forum changes going on. Actually if you change your log in to not logging in automatically, close all your browsers and return to this section you can read most of the posts that are missing. They only disappear once you log in. That is how it is for me anyway. I have to log in manually each time so I discovered that by accident. Probably a temporary technical glitch.
