Post "I predict X and Y" threads.
Please tell me if you feel these threads should be allowed, or merged into the appropriate thread (ie: Fantastic 4 Box office Predictions).

Eh, I think for some films they should be allowed to stay. But when we have a bunch of people predicting the same film, they should be merged.

For example, BKB's Fantastic Four thread should be merged with Maverikk's. There are about 5 War of the Worlds threads that could easily be merged to make everything more readable.

Technically if we merged all the WOTW threads, it would make it much less readable.

Not "all" of the threads, but all of the threads that discussed the film itself and the ones that discussed its box office.

What I'm saying is two or three threads is ok in my opinion, but when you have 10 threads about the same film it becomes a little ridiculous.

Eagle - I'd take a laissez faire approach - if people don't post in those threads, they will quickly fall out from the front page. And if people post - well, then they're popular and shouldn't be deleted.

Yeah. I kind of like some of them if the thread starters kicked them off charismatically enough. They're quite funny. The box opffice clubs, predictions etc. I would only merge ones that were kind of dead or didn;t generate excitement. ANyone who's opening post for a thread reads like an essay and is a challenge to other members (I dare you to disagree, etc) should be allowed to stay so that the author can groom them. If they die, then they die, and fall off the front page quickly.

Anyway, let them stay. The bad ones always drop off. Except the ones that BKB makes because WOKJ members have a passion for making fun of the predictions of mentally ill 40 year olds...

I like 'em. It's the one great thing about this site in comparison to BOM. Sean banned "clubs" in the box office section. But, I'm fine with them. They bring a lot of discussion in comparison to prediction threads, which is just, well, predictions and charts for the most part.

Stay in school, and maybe the next time I use words like intelligentsia and mens rea you'll also understand what I mean.

And, hopefully, explain it to me.

I think more than one is okay, if we just keep the one movie one thread policy it just gets boring. But something like 5-6 threads is too much.

Also, can someone please tell Emperor to shut up? :) Please?

I don't mind them, and actually when a big release comes out I enjoy the "spamming" of mulitple threads tacklign different angles. I mean for big films like Sith or WotW, where everyone is psyched up. Some need to be pruned now and then, some excess but overall it's just a sign of enthusiasm and that's a good thing. Unless one single person is doinga lot, though, of course. I"m assuming multiple people.

The only thing that kind of bugs me, and I hesitate to mention this because I dont want you to force the thread creators to change, is that lately often there's multiple threasd per big release and yet somehow no prediction thread. There never was one thread where people were predicting Worlds and still isn't one for F4. I find that odd.

But not asking you to do anything about it, it's something we can deal with amongst ourselves I think.

I know that's a long answer but I figure you want feedback. :)

One thing that I think should go are threads like
"The thread where ____(insert name here) say that (movie title) will make (more/less) then (number)
