I like the new portal - its pretty much the same as the Naturalflux7 one but thats not a bad thing - looks like we will be stuck with the portal system for a while longer as the whole redesign thing went way off the rails - i underestimated my free time severely.

The one major problem I have with the new design so far is that it allows the avatars to be big, and stretches the bar that seperates the avatar from the post. It makes the page look all funky and what not.
For example, thomsoncory's The Ring Two avatar and movies35's High Tension avatar stretch it out. I liked it when there was a restriction that wouldn't let it go past a certain limit.
Can we get that back, please? [-o<

BOM would have had my silly and useless demands fulfilled within minutes of the post.
I guess I know where my loyalty should be.

I think that restriction is great too.

Its hard to differ the new post from the old ones. Maybe Red for new, purple for old would be better.

Hmmm, I have comments about the routing page. It reminds me an aweful lot of forcing a members' posting hand. A bit like when ever you click on a new thread, etc at BOM, they started having this routing "register to be a user" page. I think it can get repetitive, distracting, and a bit frustrating to try and by-pass. I dunno if I'm making sense, but I preferred just a normal, uniterrupted passage from the main page to the forums.
Just my two cents. Sorry for be complain-ish.

Uh. Maybe someone can explain better than me?
When I used to peek in at BOM, I would sometimes click on a thread, and this huge page would pop up asking me to register. It would pop up several times when ever I would check out threads, and it got annoying seeing the same screen. Disrupting my reading paths, etc.
Here, if I type in http://www.worldofkj.com/forum I get this page with that bABA lookin' for Batman tickets blurb. Along with links on left hand corner, members on-line in a small box on the right, etc. This not only comes up everytime I go to that address, but also when I double log-in (still happening, and I get sent to that page) and also if I click on links to the front page but then return here. Especially for people that check out news and articles on the front page, it gets annoying to have a seamless transition between the forums and main page. I clicked on Loyal's Cinderella Man review (link ontop of forum) and then after reading it, clicked on "forum" link to return. The routing page popped up again. I've already seen it about 15 times today just between leaving and returning to the site, etc. It gets annoying very quickly. Sorry, I may be the only one who thinks so but I'm just putting it out there since I noticed past comments that some of the people that slowed posting at BOM did so because of the new layout design and pop-ups, etc, and this feels alot like that to me. I also get routed to it everytime i log out as well.
Also, I may be the only girl not into red white and blue. The new blue is so much nicer and stronger than the old one that a strong orange would be quite good. They're opposites on the color wheel so actually trigger off eye rods (cones?) to heighten their respective color.
I hope this helps and is constructive input rather than coming across as bickering? If its not just let me know and I'll hold off?

What you are refering to dolce, is the portal.
It is the 'front page' so to speak, of the forum. When you click the forum link, you will go to the 'front page' or the portal. When you log in, you go to the 'front page' or the portal.
It does not redirect you at any other times, you wont be interrupted browsing by being forcefully re-directed to the portal ever. There are only two times you are taken to it, one is when you enter, the other is when you log in. If you click the 'remember me' button, you can bypass one of them.
That won't change. As for the colors, I will look into a change, but don't get your hopes up.

Ah, it sends me there when I log out too. And since I tend to log in, check everything out, log out and go do other net stuff, and log and check back in an hour later, it gets pretty sore on the eyes. Especially cause I log in and out awhile, and the double login makes me see the portal twice each time.
Why the portal if you don't mind my asking? Instead of the front page and links? Seems like the front page will suffer for it. Oh, and when going back and forth between main site and forums to read articles, it also happens, which is tough for browsers who do that.
Is this being a bug? I'll stop if you don't want feed back, just expressing concern over this portal thing, which makes reading and navigating the site and forums not seamless anymore.

Actually it does nothing for seamless reading, and I imagine you are one of the few who are having an issue with it.
The portal is a very effective tool, and is not completly set up as of yet.
It allows for me to post announcements if I need to, knowing that all users will read them. It also allows me to bring more recognition to articles I want to feature. It does alot of things, and I am hapy with it. I don't see it going anywhere.
Your deffinatly a different case, because you log in and out so much. Fourtunatly, it is only a click away from the forum index. Just find the forum link on the right hand side of the portal, or the "forum index" at the top.

I suspect this error is the result of the mail server still being down and someone being subscribed the thread I just posted a response to, as Baba mentioned on the previous on the previous page, but just in case it isn't:
Ran into problems sending Mail. Response: 502 Error: command not implemented
DEBUG MODE
Line : 125
File : smtp.php
When posting a response to to the Ayn Rand thread in the literature section.

Eagle, here is something that is kinda important to me that needs fixed.
In these two threads, result sheets are posted from spreadsheets...
The Early Game 2
Domestic v. International
The blank cells copied from the spreadsheets now take up a whole tab instead of how it used to be just a space. It really messes up how the whole thing looks... so maybe you could fix that somehow?... or not?

Can you explain more throughly what you think the difference is, and I will try to fix it.

Did you look at those links I posted? Why are there so many spaces inbetween each word in those result sheets posted from a spreadsheet? It used to not do that..

Before, it was treating a tab as single white space, but now it actually fills in the entire tab space, I believe.
