It would not be a major task to post a few articles per week. As for promotion it's possible search engines alone bring some users here. I can try linking some articles on places like reddit, twitter, BOT, etc. There is nothing to lose, if I can't handle it then 3 months from now things will just go back to what they are now.
Things are so bad now that if all it produced was one new regular a year it would make a big difference. Since 2010 not counting bradley's fake account tree and a half, the only 2 new posters with over 1000 posts are zwackerm and stuffp and both have been worth their weight in gold in terms of keeping this place going. How many regulars have left since 2010, over 50? It can't last another 8 years at that ratio. There have been no registrations at all since July. That sounds good. It's better to be doing something than nothing. I think me and you could do this together. I could take over social while you handle content generation. But it would still require cooperation from the admins. The forum cannot be abandoned.

Giving up the main site is effectively giving up on new people finding the site And the first thing should be updating the main page. How do you expect someone to even explore the site when the first page they encounter still shows movies from 2012. Everyone will think it's a dead site not updated for years and won't even bother to delve into the forums.

We should all accept the fact this site will die. Maybe just decide on an ending date and make the most of it. Forums are dead. It's all about social networks. WOKJ will not happen anymore.

David wrote: "box officeish." Yeah, that's the main one. Every time I read it (which is most days) my inner voice turns into a stuttering retard as I attempt to say so many s-sounding syllables one after the other. But also annoying are; "completly" in the description for the Foreign and Independent Film forum and "2008 USA Election" in the description for The Politiko Palace forum.

He turned off allowing other members to privately message him in the hope someone would notice and then he could feel all superior as he explains why. You fell into his trap.
