I re-read everything baumer said, and I didn't find anything where he was provoking or he verbally attacked you. He didn't swear or curse, and he was sincerely discussing the issue at hand throughout. For the words/sentences that you highlighted, I don't find them a big deal or warrant any overreaction. It's benign. Some members have said much worse things to others publicly in this forum, and we've dealt with them accordingly. I don't really want to ask you to "show some maturity and let it go" since 1) you don't like people to call you that as you consider yourself one of the most mature persons in the forum, and 2) only you know how deeply you felt about the whole situation with baumer, but here I'd like to see you not keep coming back at baumer in this thread. Leave it to pm. Again, my own 0.02. Thanks. This is my 2 cents. This isn't the first time that you called me out and ignored the other guy. I can go after baumer myself, or you guys can deal with him. As far as taking it to PM, we did, but as you plainly ignored, baumer decided to start it up in public again, not that you felt it was worth mentioning... And he called me a drama queen? He's apologized 5 times because I'M the one who needs to be loved? Um...ok. He purposely started in with the insults, and since they were directed at me, why should you take them personal, right?
Baumer has done nothing I would consider a personal attack, and I agree with everything Xiayun mentioned above.

I don't hate anybody, Tony. Hate is a strong word. I think you need to better realize when it's best to keep your nose out of things. It's not surprising, as you somehow think it's your calling in life to jump in and take sides against me, no matter what the situation, and that's just pathetic. Don't you have any character?

Losing character and being pathetic is defined as disagreeing with you and replying to public topics? Very interesting.

Yes you've done a fine job so far
Mav,
The simple fact is, you are the one who started this by essentially accusing Baumer of being insincere about his apology. Weather you meant it or not, it came off very accusatory.
Baumer has said over and over in this thread that he is sorry for what happened. From my talks with him, I have come to understand there were alot of circumstances in his life at the time that would not let him focus properly on the site. I know you worked your ass off, and trust me, I know how much work goes into a website. I also know how it feels to have people back out of things on you. I have had countless things fall through on this site because friends of mine (most in real life) have failed to come through.
In the end, the fighting needs to stop, not because it isn't entertaining ... it is for everyone else ... its like wrestlemania 6 all over again ... but because your letting all your anger over a past issue infuriate you. Baumer has apoligized, and he feels bad as he has said, but that doesn't mean he needs to lie down and bend over to show it.
He had his own circumstances, and his own reasons. He gets to live with them. You need to accept that.

Ah, ok... because I thought you were simply basing it on the fact that I replied to a public topic, and sided against you when clearly everybody is siding with you. As long as you're basing it on my stupidity (which I won't argue with), I understand.
I'd also like to point out that you frequently resort to name calling and degrading when debating - something, I very rarely (or never) do. If I can give you one piece of advice in your debate skills, it would be to avoid that as it isn't always the best route. I love to degrade myself, but never do it others unless it is in jest.

Mav loves to use "kid" but I don't think he can vs Baumer ...
This is like a ladder match me thinks.
Where is Ahmed when you need him.

Karl, answer me one question. Did you or did you not notice that I had quit replying to this thread. I was dealing with it privately. Did you or did you not notice that baumer decided to take another shot at me in reply to RAWSAW? Anybody can see that. Why you are defending that action is beyond me. It's like you're pretending that never happened. Would you like me to quote it all for you and tell you exactly where to find it in that in the thread? It was over, but baumer decided not to let it die, and I'm not going to take the blame for that.

I stopped doing that for a long time, but since nobody noticed, I figured, what the hell. You've constantly lived in the past on that issue, as if you are really slow in noticing stuff. I'd love to be a crook in your town.

Well actually, RAWSAW is who Baumer replied to, and RAWSAW is the one who got the thread back going, so I say we all lynch him.
As for his "shot" at you. He called you "10 years old". I suppose you could consider that degrading. Unfourtunatly in that aspect you have no right to talk, as you have done the exact same thing to me personally, as well as countless members in the forum.

Can you show me a thread that I did that in to you? I told you that privately, as you did the same to me. We never took it to the forums.
baumer still decided to start running me down at the forums in public. Drama queen! It wasn't me. Can you name some examples of me ever doing anything like that at the forums since the rules were put in place?

It's just a difference in debate style. I simply never feel I have to resort to name calling, or degrading the person I'm debating. I guess there's nothing wrong with your style, it works, just in a different way. Not sure what you mean by "living in the past" on the issue as I've never brought it up before.
I frequently disagree with you, but I think you confuse disagreement with dislike. Part of the reason I never put you down, is because I don't dislike you. I've commented many many times in many threads that you are obviously highly intelligent and can hold your own. However, I do frequently find myself on the opposite side of your position.
I like to think I'm not the norm with the people you debate... while you frequently question my character, intelligence, and abilities in all facets of my life, I simply don't care. I don't take myself seriously enough to let anything like that bother me, and on the contrary enjoy it. I always think that if I get somebody to do that, I must be winning the debate.
But again, don't confuse my debating with disliking. I never once have said anything to you to lead you to believe I don't like you.

Hmm, I'm going to sidestep over this whole "discussion" and go back to the topic of the thread and say: Welcome baumer! It will be nice to have another moderator to help out and input their own opinion. I almost never agree with you in regards to film (hehe), but I have always respected your authority, and knowledge, etc in regards to real life. Like RAWSAW, you have given me wise words before. Everything you will bring forth to the forums as "head moderator" will be a positive contribution, no doubt.
PEACE, Mike

I have to intervene here. All I see here is a bunch of people, ranging from Maverikk to Baumer to Tony Montana all bickering and calling each other down, quite subtley, and not letting up at all. I think it's a damn shame that none of you can resolve anything. All of you are older than me, and you should all know better by now!
I like each and every one of you. Tony, we obviously go back to the Modding days. Baumer, while I don't think we've really had much conversation with each other, I respect you, I like you, and I'm glad for your moderating status. Modding is something I will never miss (obviously), and I wish you the best of luck on it, even though you don't need it after your modding at BOM. And Maverikk... we've had some differences, I know it. There were times when I said "My God!", and wanted to tell you otherwise, but I didn't. Why? Cause I see things from both standpoints. I don't sit here and try to tell people I'm right, and not have an open mind to the other opinion. I learn from both sides. And that's how I've grown to like you. I respect you, I like you, and I think you're a really cool guy, no matter what anyone here says. You do tend to get hurt a lot, but you show it more than anyone else. Everyone here gets hurt sometimes. We just show it differently. All three of you (and anyone else involved) should sort this out differently, and quit trying to make things worse by calling the others down. It's getting you all nowhere, and you need to go back to where it started, and resolve that. If you can't, then you have to find some other way. Being dicks towards each other won't do much except create an uncomfortable atmosphere for all of us to co-exist in. Like I said, I like you three, and I basically like everyone (even if the feeling isn't always reciprocated), so I don't want to see multiple people continue this crap when it can be resolved.
After the stuff I pulled a few months ago, I know it's hard taking my opinion seriously. But, this is as serious as I am going to get. I wish you guys luck on resolving this, and will now continue to be the guy who no one takes seriously at all.

I would/do take you seriously when you make posts like that. It's just that 90% of your posts are jokes.
Well 5% are jokes.
The other 85% are failed jokes, with 10% being serious (that or failed jokes I mistook as serious)

I came up with five different responses, but when I repeated them to myself, none of them sounded funny at all. I should do that a LOT more often.

Honestly, it doesnt matter.
I wish serious Mr. X would post moe, because I don't know him very well ... but I don't mind funny Mr. X either. Failed jokes and all, its still funny to watch them fail, kind of like a baby learning to walk, you can't help but laugh as they fall on there arse.

I actually do try to be more serious lately. I guess it sounds even more like I'm joking. One thing I stopped doing was using emoticons. I guess no one knows if I'm joking or not now. Adds some fun to the mix.

Well Mike Q, thanks for welcome. And I think it will be fun to work with you, all of you. The one thing we do agree on when it comes to film is that we both love Titanic. So cheers!!
Mr. X, we spoke frequently back in the moj days and the fact that you are Canadian is just cool. I will do my best to be on my best behaviour now. I appreciate your post and it made sense. Thanks.
Tony, you just make me laugh, all the time. Thanks.

It's really scary when Mr. X is positioning himself as the voice of reason!
But, seriously... where would message boards be without inane debates about nothing? The internet is built around 30 year old geeky losers arguing about stupid shit. This is my entertainment, for the love of God, let me have it! I'm old and if I don't have this, I'll have to sit on my front porch and yell at the neighbor kids for no good reason.

At least they haven't started parsing lines. You can always tell when things are getting really hostile when people do responses breaking up the other person's post into like 5 segments of one line each.
I have to be honest here and say I really am not overly thrilled with the duplication of modding abilities form BOM to here. It isn't about qaulifications, it's about tone, and feel. I don't want this place to feel like BOM.
That's not any jab at baumer being a mod, don't misread it. It's a general "health of the forum" type comment, about the direction the board is going in, and not a complaint about anyone in particular. And to tell you the truth I dont think I'm alone in that sentiment.
And that should not be misinterpreted as taking Mav's side in this debate above. My comment was unrelated to that totally.
Hopefully that is enough disclaimers to avoid someone completely misunderstanding but on the internet, you never know.
By the way, Tony, get off my lawn you whippersnapper.
