Argos' platform, if you've been paying attention to this thread, is 'let people be.' No unnecessary bannings or censorship. "You want a club? Have a club." We're adults, some of us. This sounds great.

Re: WoKJ Admin Election - Declare Intention to Run
Are any of the opponents disagreeing with that? I don't care if there are clubs, and I'm not into censoring writing.
That said, we don't want innocent posters being threatened or offended...continually. That's been known to happen.
Moderators have more responsibilities than to just ban/warn members, censor posts, and sticky threads. They're the leaders of the forums and need to willing to peer mediate.

I don't know how any one could support dur torri, he's been horrifyingly awful. I'd sooner contract genital warts on my vagina and ass than vote for him.

John Savage,
I thought I could find you here.
My brother graduated from HS this morning and his graduation speaker was your governor, who graduated from his (and my) HS 25 years ago. He went on for about 30 minutes about all the famous people who were born in Iowa. It was totally direct out of a campaign election speech and had no place at a graduation.

That's pretty funny though, if you don't mind me asking, what HS did your brother/you graduate from, for that matter is it in Iowa or another state? I guess I don't know that much about you, hmm, shame, your a cool guy.

Although none of these points even need to be made as no-one would even consider voting for you, whether they realized all of this or not.

VOTE ARGOS FOR PRESIDENT If I may quote from my proclamation: Argos wrote: What I have to offer as President of the World of KJ, however, is little, is nothing but light, liberty and the freedom of expression; for these ends are the butterflies of our hearts, the happiness which we pursue: and cruel oppression shall not hold them in captivity where they have woefully endured for the tide of this long year. Thank you anyway, yoshue. I am counting on you (as well as on snack-i-poo).

Re: WoKJ Admin Election - Declare Intention to Run
Haha, I wasn't seeking John's vote. I just didn't want to PM him over something so trivial and thought I had a good chance of finding him in here Plus, dissing his governor is not exactly the way to win a vote. Corpse, you deserve to lose 5 "intelligence" points. Thus, you cannot be admin! John, my brother graduated from Bethesda-Chevy Chase HS. It's in Maryland, close to DC. It was...a very weird choice for a graduation speaker (though mine wasn't any better...we had Wonder Woman)

Price had to drop out due to inavailibility during the time of the election process.

I'm sorry, but that's an awful way to deal with the Grill issue. It seems to me that you don't even understand the issue fully. Yes, the polls are certainly part of the issue. But the true issue is how he constantly bumps up his own threads to the first page, even when there is little to no discussion going on. As Bradley put it, "Threads live and die by a kind of natural selection - - the most popular ones survive near the top of the forum because they are the ones that create the most discussion. It's survival of the fittest. Grill, on the other hand, unnaturally keeps his Frankensteinesque threads artificially alive by repeated, purposeless bumping, often with copied poll results as each single new vote comes in. Aaaiiieeeee!!!" I'll refer you to this thread as an example of what I'm talking about: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=51230He bumped the thread up 4 times without a single reply from someone else. Furthermore 9 of the 14 posts in the thread were his. And this happens with all of his RT threads. He bumps it up every couple of days for no reason. Is it really that hard to go RT yourself? We don't need an actual thread every single week that's bumped up every couple of days. Granted, he creates a couple interesting threads, but his threads are by and large just spam in the Cinemania. Your solution would hardly help clean up the Cinemania, as he would continue to bump up his old threads.

Re: WoKJ Admin Election - Declare Intention to Run
Hey Clueless One, Check on the front page of 35 threads and they me where I am doing this! List examples! and the RT thread is just an update/informational thread as others do. AND WHY SHOULD WE GO TO RT WHEN WE CAN STAY HERE. and based on the views, people seem to want that information as they are going in when the title clearly lays out what it says. Re: WoKJ Admin Election - Declare Intention to Run
Speevy, I don’t think the thread bumping is the big issue. If we hypothetically take away Goldie’s ability to post in his own threads, we’re left with his insufferable baiting, defensive attitude, and thread redundancy.
My feeling is...Goldie is clearly disrespectful when he incessantly duplicates threads that don’t interest people. Yes, people can ignore those threads, but it’s a nuisance. Additionally, Goldie violates an unwritten "social decency" code of conduct by obsessively monitoring his reputation and bullying those who criticize him. I realize that people are mean to Goldie (and maybe we could do something here), but someone in his position -- who has been given chance after chance -- should want to take the high road. People earn respect when they relate well with others. Petty bullying goes nowhere.
Given Goldie’s history, and how he was once lifetime-banned, I think Goldie needs to get his game straight pronto. We shouldn’t “baby” him by restricting his rights and then relinquishing them as we see intermittent good behavior. He understands what he's doing wrong and -- as a member of this social community -- needs to cooperate and make the appropriate adjustments.
Now, just to show you how the T&Z administration would work. I’d write this in the Mod forum. We’d discuss it. We’d then vote on possible outcomes. “We” being: me, Zingaling, currently active mods that Z and I decide to keep, a mod or two that we choose, and a mod or two that the public elects. 100% democratic vote. And, no, threads like these in "The Site" forum would never be deleted.
