Yes, ma'am.

Is it possible to add a feature where we can PM multiple people at once? Personally, I don't need it, but I think it would make life a little easier for the people who run the box office games and need to PM all the contestants the same message.

Um, is there a way that when you first sign up, and get an email back, that there is a little password you need to identify or something? I'm noticing an aweful lot of porn spambots lately...obsessed with Shakira, and birthdays in 1976, interestingly enough.

May I suggest that we get rid of the "I don't plan on seeing this movie" poll option in the Everyone's A Critic threads. It seems kinda redundant and it skews the poll results.

It has no effect on the average grade.
But I do propose that we remove all the names of who voted, that does skew results, especially in Water Cooler threads.
People will make a post with various options and some of them are embarassing and/or upopular and no one wants to be the first one to choose that.

I'm not saying we should get rid of the ones where people already voted in, just that we stop using the option from now on.
The question asks "What Grade Would You Give This Movie", so I don't understand why someone would answer that they don't want to see the movie when the question is clearly asking something else.

I agree. It also doesn't make sense because even if someone is at one point not planning to see the movie, they may eventually see the movie for some reason, and then cannot grade it. If the person is not going to see the movie, then they don't grade it in the poll. There is no need for an option that basically says "I'm not grading the film because I haven't seen it". That should be implied. It's just a waste, I think.
Anyways, I also think Mav's suggestion of being able to see the first few lines of the first post in a thread by just moving your curser over the thread title is wicked sweet. If you guys could do that, that would be quite amazing.
PEACE, Mike.

i think there was a reason behind why it was put in. people kept voting F again and again for films they thought would be crap and didn't want to watch.

the "first few lines" thing is a VBulletin feature. I doubt there's a similar hack for phpbb.

If you want to deflect false F's, you could add an option "I piss on this film and everyone in it" or some variation on that, and make it not count in the grade average.

I've always wondered why there was no basic derby-style prediction game here. It just seems silly for everyone to still be referring to BOM derby all the time. If it's too much work and you guys are just tired of building up the site then that makes sense but if you are still ambitious and all about it then I think you should make one. It doesn't have to involve any prizes, and there's no reason to try to reinvent the wheel, just a flat out normal weekend prediction game.

Mass PM doesn't work with this edition of phpboards, so we're eagerly awaiting 3.0 version, which has that, plus many more nice features. Hopefully soon in 2007.

All the features it has sound amazing, and it's supposed to have a nifty new look ... the look hasn't been revealed yet ... still kept highly under wraps.
It's in Beta 4right now, once it gets to the release candidates it's a few months away. I'd expect it in the summer, we may or may not move to it before then, I haven't decided. But after everything that happened a week or so ago, I am a bit wary about moving the forum to a board that isn't stable.
