 Competition Spam
I've noticed there are a LOT of spam accounts being set up soley for the purpose of enterting competitions. Too many people are signing up, posting in the competition threads and then not actually doing anything in the forums.

...that's the point. Cause awareness. Even if one of those people continues to come back to the forum, it's a success from the forum community standpoint. From a webmasters standpoint, it raises awareness on the web...more links, more hits, higher pagerank, more revenue from ads, better chance at exclusive materials, etc.

Okay so we sacrifice fairness for the end revenue factor of returning users?
Hmmm...sounds like a sweet deal to me!

If one person is creating several accounts to sign up for a competition, and everyone else is entering with ONE account. That makes the competition unfair.

Certainly it does and that is forbidden too. I think there is a bit of misunderstanding in this thread. Double accounts are not allowed by anyone to enter the competiton and they are being filtered out as much as possible.
